Weistec vs MBH downpipes?

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on either the Weistec or MBH downpipes are for a 13' E550. I'm contemplating getting some downpipes and a tune soon and was wondering what the pros and cons of each were if anyone has used one or both.

Night and day difference. Your car will make E63 power with a tune and downpipes. Depending on your state laws you may have to consider catted downpipes. But between the 2 companies you mentioned it is a huge price difference and Weistec pipes actually have the bridge pipe so that requires the sub frame to be dropped to install. I currently have the Speed Driven catted downpipes and love them.

Awesome, Weistec's system looks to be almost complete and definitely good quality but I might see about going with MBH and having them put some high flow cats on. But I live in Minnesota too so I dont necessarily need cats. But will probably have cats on to not have it extremely loud.

I run MBH catless downpipes and it is very loud with open exhaust. So much so that I installed some 3 chamber mufflers. Much happier with the sound now. still loud, but manageable, and it makes a ton of power

Resurrecting this from the dead, I am almost ready to pull the trigger on some Downpipes finally and I think I am actually gunna go with Weistec's downpipes just because of that system seems to be turbo back which is what I wanted. Now the only thing I am kind of hesitant on is, will the Weistec downpipes be an engine out job? Or will it require lowering the subframe and lifting the engine a bit? And since those downpipes are much bigger will I require a special motor mount or something?

Not to be that guy, but you should probably just send Weistec an email. There response will probably be much quicker, and you know it will be accurate.

So, it does look like with Weistec's kit the engine needs to be pulled to put the "bridge pipes" in. I think I will end up doing that, but first I think I'll do a stage 2 tune and do catless downpipe system and do a dyno test with just those. then when money permits for labor, I will do the bridge pipes and another dyno to see if its worth the extra cost in labor if you own a 4matic Mercedes.

Hi. Do you have 4 matic ? If so I think you need some custom engine mounts if you go bigger bridge pipes and needs to pull engine down. If you are going that route, get also M157 turbos. Then you will have some real power on you.

Yup, I have a 4matic. I believe weistec makes the motor mounts as well. And thats what I planned when everything is out just might as well do m157 turbos as well

Fine nice! You will regret if you don't get M157 turbos when engine is down I did and run 1/4 mile 10,95s trap speed 128mph.
