Need advice! Im looking for E63 amg sound from a 2014 E550 (m278/v8 Biturbo) Exhaust?

Yes I know this is not an AMG car so I know the sound will not be identical but what I'm trying to achieve is to get something similar by deleting components. I have a 2014 E550 V8 Biturbo I just did a muffler delete and it still sounds pretty quiet compared to the E63 amg's on youtube, I guess the turbos really do quiet down things. Is my next step deleting the front resonators(that look like cats) and the big resonator in the middle or do I leave the front resonators alone? Because I've seen so many members say they delete the resonator and keep the mufflers but I have yet to see a thread where someone deletes both the resonator and mufflers on a facelift/2014 w212 with an m278 engine. I have an appointment on Wednesday to go back to the shop so I would really love to get some advice from everyone. I also purchased from Benz a E63 AMG diffuser with the E63 AMG tips(along with all the parts needed $1300 later lol) that Im also throwing on this week. Or do I do what I did with my S500 and delete everything after the primary cats and throw on AMG mufflers but Im trying to avoid having to buy AMG mufflers and I thought I would be able to get away with that since the turbos quiet things down quite a bit.

Some background info I used to have S500 (V8 naturally aspirated) I deleted the secondary cats, resonators and put facelift(deal tipped) S55 mufflers it sounded amazing, So basically straight piped from primary cats to the AMG mufflers. God I miss that car/sound

Replace the entire exhaust system from manifolds to tailpipe. That is for starters. Then tune your engine.

Thank you for your response, I guess when I said by deleting components I should’ve been a little more specific I am not looking to spend thousands of dollars on replacing the entire exhaust system and tune. What I am trying to do is to take a stock 2014 E550 And just make it sound better by deleting mufflers and or resonators and I’m just looking on advice on which muffler/resonator delete is the best combo and way to go to achieve a better sounding E550 And my last option if I had to would be to add E63 mufflers.

I owned a 2011 e550 and had my resonators deleted first. Wasn’t loud enough so I delete my mufflers. It sounded awesome by droned terribly to so i had to drop in a set of magnaflow mufflers

Delete Rear mufflers and big resonator. Add x pipe to remove drone. My 550 has downpipes and sounds amazing.

I went through this a couple of years ago. I deleted the middle resonator and added C63 mufflers. Documented in this thread and have a couple of videos:

Terrible Mistake lol looks great sounds awful

It sounds nothing like an AMG obviously.. That being said I'm buying a pair of AMG mufflers off eBay this week or if anyone has them for sale on here please message me.. My one question to you guys is if I could find a pair of W213 E63 S amg mufflers vs W212 amg mufflers would there be any advantage over one or the other or do you know if one pair of muffler sounds better than the other I know that the comparison would be hard since the newer AMG's have smaller engines and they would be going on a non AMG car.. Also When I do put on the AMG muffler should I go ahead and have the primary resonators deleted?

I just put on the E63 diffuser and tips they look Great! But sounds like SH*T lmao

Right now I have a resonator delete + X pipe and muffler delete

Downpipes change the sound completely but that didn't sound horrible. Where did you get that diffuser from? that looks nothing like my factory ones on my 16

Yeah I need e63 mufflers ASAP and then I’ll have them delete the resonators right after the cats so then it will be straight pipe from the cats to the mufflers
The diffuser along with all of the parts are OEM straight from the local Herdrick Benz stealership here in NC
Here’s the thread where I got the part number list from one of the members, except for the diffuser trim I decided to go with the brushed stainless look instead of the midnight package. What does your diffuser look like?

Alrighty quick questions:
You have straight pipe + X pipe from your cats all the way to your E63 mufflers?

1) Do you hear the turbos spool up?
3) How does it sound as far as trying to achieve that AMG bark?
4) After driving it a few days have you warmed up to the echoing sound or has it changed in any way?

Im having my mufflers put on today and now I’m debating after hearing you say that it sounds echoey. I’m not too sure if I want to delete my front resonators now. If anyone else can chime in that would be great since I’m going to the shop at 1 PM

Well it’s complete! All resonators deleted+X pipe +E63 amg S mufflers.
so basically cats, x pipe and muffler. Much better than before and definitely not annoying/loud. It’s no where near as loud(in a bad way) as it was, it is much more refined, deeper but much quieter. Now I see why downpipes and tunes are important not just for power but for the improvement of sound as well. But I’m happy with it for the time being lol I can drive through a store parking lot without everyone looking at me like a fool with just loud exhaust that sounds stupid and nothing close to the AMG refined sound and bark. So maybe in the near future a tune will be purchased. I’ll post a sound clip this week

yes stock DP's to xpipe to amg muffler

i was a bit to quick to judge. my x pipe was actually sitting the bridge between the tunnel giving a ton of noise in the cabin. not thats been sorted it does sound much better. no echo anymore. its a good sound but feel like the amg motors have a bit more deep tone to the exhaust note. turbo spool wise can hear a bit more. i can actually hear more run off pops now lol
