W212 FACELIFT UPGRADE ISSUE

Hi MBWORLD

Nice to join you. I have a W212 2012 classe E. I planned to do a facelift upgrade, after a little front damage. I bought all body kit conversion, with ILS headlights and all came good..... before put ligts. With original cable and sam modul, it's wasn't working. So I change modul sam and cable, but now I have just one of two ligts who are working, and car did't recognize the new sal module. I think I need to code it, or something like that.

I feel like lost. Maybe on of you know the way to solve this situation.

Thanks in advance guys

all those modules probably need the correct firmware ("flashware") versions *AND* coding to interoperate. you have a older car with newer components, thats not a supported combination, so you're kind of on your own for sorting it out, and as far as I know, only actual dealers have access to flashware updates, independent mechanics with XEntry can run diagnostics, but not upgrade flashware.. the days of headlights just getting power on or off on two wires, one for low/dip beams, and one for high/main beams, are long gone. these get digital control signals from the computer systems on board, and ILS uses signals from whatever module controls the windshield camera as well as everything else.

You have to code the HFL modules in each headlamp and the front SAM which is responsible for sending signals to the headlamps. You cannot use regular xentry to perform this modification since you are facelifting the car. You must use vediamo or monaco to program the modules. It would be easier if you had a working facelift vehicle you can copy the configuration from.

is Vediamo something a good independent might have access to, or are they restricted to just the XEntry diagnostics stuff?

Most traditional repair shops will not have this software. These two software are used at mercedes benz factory during the development of these modules They allow you to go into the module and change parameters of the module. With newer generation cars, there are literally thousands of coding variables. If a shop performs retrofits, they will most likely have it.

what part of the world are you in? this needs to be hooked up to your car and the internet to fetch the codes and firmware/flashware updates.
