2010 E350 Moonroof leak
Hey guys , I am familiar with e350s and the sunroof that opens fully having a common issue with drains that need to be unclogged.
I have the moonroof so it only opens part way. I notice water stains down my A pillers in the front of the vehicle and wet floorboards after a hard rain in the passenger and rear passenger footwell.
I was looking for the drain holes with the moonroof but I do not see any . Additionally, it’s a very tight space to even try to visualize. Do the moonroofs have these same drain holes the the sunroofs have ? If not , where should I look to attempt to resolve this issue ? It was never a problem when it rained until I moved to west texas where it never rained and was ultra dusty for around 8 months. Now that I’m in Arkansas and getting plenty of rain again , it’s a issue.

By moonroof, your referring to the panoramic (all glass) roof?
There was a recent thread, which showed the panoramic does not have conventional drains like sunroofs. Water runs out the four “corners” under the black trim pieces of the front and rear windshields.

hey there - I’m so sorry for not replying sooner . I have been slammed with work. No sir , it’s a standard glass panel just over the area of the drivers cabin - not extending to the rear and not panoramic but it only opens like it’s venting - it doesn’t slide all the way back like a sunroof would so that’s why I’m calling it a moonroof. So to try and be more clear , when you use the control on the overhead console to open it - it just tilts up to maybe a 35 degree or 30 degree angle ... something close to that In order to allow air flow and that’s all it does .

So you have a sunroof as its seems to be called more commonly. It should both tilt and open. The drains for the pan go thru the A and C pillars down.

I see, yea the terms get used kind of loosely. To me a sunroof is a metal panel that opens in the roof and a moonroof is a glass panel which can open too. A panoramic sunroof is a when a moonroof becomes the entire roof

This is as far as it opens
Inside view
This is as far as it has ever opened
I attached pics ... I don’t see any space for it to open fully . This is all it has ever done since purchasing .
oh my sweet lord .... I just figured out how to open the damn thing ... I didn’t know the button could be pushed back towards the back seat ... Jesus ...I’ve had this car for 4 years ...

These cars on second or third owners don't always come with operator's manuals. But you can find one at MBUSA.com... https://www.mbusa.com/en/owners/manuals
