That's a W213 with the standard display.

OP, your issue sounds similar to someone with a W205 has experienced:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...e-warning.html
In short, it could be that the parking brake didn't retract fully and the parking brake button was not depressed fully.
Another thing is your door might not be closed firmly.
For details, please take a look at the thread.

Same, it was a MY17 here too in Canada, North American market is always one model year behind the European counterpart.

OP, if the thread doesn't provide the answers you need then continue asking. I also suggest posting in the W213 forum as yours is a W213, hopefully someone will come across your thread and answer your questions.

fwiw, I get occasional parking brake warnings upon starting the car when its cold, and putting it in D, but its just the warning that the brake is set, grabbing the release handle clears it even tho it wasn't set. next time its in the shop, I'll have my mechanic check the adjustments

I'm pretty sure the parking brake on a 212 is mechanical, not electric, at least it sure feels like it when I set it by stomping on the pedal.... checks the parts catalog, yup, mechanical on E350...

I have had the parking brake warning go off if my foot even BRUSHES the parking brake pedal while getting in the car. Pulling the handle resets it.

Though mine is a 2014 W212, it used to have a problem with the parking brake (which I always use) not releasing completely. It had a soft return, and the warning light stayed lit. Mentioned to the SA during a service visit (@20K), the first time they probably lubricated it, but the 2nd time I mentioned they just replaced the mechanism under warranty ( #10 in the diagram). It is about 70K and still working. I guess a reject from QA

If I recall correctly, it used to be an issue with some W212. Discussed here in the forum

I do note that, at least for my VIN, the pedal assembly (10) in the diagram above has part number A2044200984 superceded by A2044201584...

but none of this relates to the electronic parking brake on the OP's W213.

Try revisiting pad change mode in an attempt to reset. Parking brake consists of two actuators @ rear brake calipers.

I hate electric operated parking brake.
Does MB one can increase force as per push/click value on the foot lever ( like our conventional parking brake )....or it is an OPEN/LOCK kind of dumb-azz brake action ?

I apologize for bringing up this old thread. I had a similar issue with my car, and it turns out that I got my wire harness damaged. I visually checked the wiring harness then I found out that the wires were cut. I did a lot of searches on this issue and came on in depth article which may be worth reading, search for "Mercedes Benz parking brake see owner’s manual on YOUCANIC" and you will see an article that goes over common causes and possible fixes, you can read about it yourself. I hope this information can assist someone else with a similar issue.
