late W212 Logic 7 and B&O speaker/amplifier wiring
someone has been PM'ing me asking for info on speaker upgrades, and I'm trying to tell them that just replacing the speakers without replacing the amplification and built-in equalization will not work very well unless the new speakers have identical crossover characteristics as the OEM, whereupon why bother? I couldn't attach this PDF to the PM, so I'm doing it here.
phew, 14 or 15 speakers in the logic7 system, and ALL crossovers are integrated into the amplifier(s). on late model 212's (after 03-2015), there's no separate bass amplifier, the 4 door woofers + 2 woofers are directly driven by the main amp N40/3 (on earlier W212's, there's a 2nd amp N40/9).
edit: the first file is for code 811, the Bang and Olufsen premium system. it uses a single amp for all speakers including the sub.
the second file is for code 810, the Harman Kardon Logic7 system most US cars have. It does have a separate bass amp N40/9

oh, thats the wiring diagram for code 811. HK Logic7 is code 810. I count 14 speakers in my wagon... a woofer and mid or tweeter in each of the 4 doors, a tweeter in the 'mirror triangle' on each front door, tweeters in the two rear pillars, the center dash speaker, and the subwoofer box under the rear deck
edit: ahhh, code 811 is the Bang and Olufsen super-premium system. oh, hah, most of the speakers are common, just a few are upgraded by the B&O, such as the front door midrange speaker... I'll fix the first post.

What year/model car, which stereo options do you have? Wiring diagrams are best looked up by VIN but I'm camping and traveling the next two weeks so someone else will have to look it up in WIS. All USA model 212 have either Logic7 or the fancier system, these both have 13-14 speaker systems with amplifiers and an integral subwoofer.

If you are asking about where to connect the blue remote wire to turn on the amp, it should be fuse number 71 which is the cigarette lighter. Here is a link which the fuse diagram for 2010-2016 E Class: https://fuse-box.info/mercedes-benz/...uses-and-relay

If you don't have an amplifier, then that is the wrong circuit diagram for your car.
