Has anyone set their LED Parkers to come on automatically?
Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has worked out how to set their front headlights the just show the LED lights when ignition on his honour the car is running without actually having it turn the light dial so that they do come on as per my picture below? Basically I just want the LED stripes to show in the headlights not the LED lights themselves when the car is running and then the lights would come on automatically at night time of course has anyone managed to work out how to do that my car only seems to show the LED stripes when you press the button on the dash or turn the dial to just the parkers only?
That twin lines of LED is the Daylight "bulb".
Use the instrument cluster menu for DAYLIGHT activation and when ignition is ON, these LED will be active too.

As mine is a Japanese import when you make that selection the twin ILS lights also come on, so I'm guessing this must be a special setting for the JDM delivery cars as I can see many Aussie cars have the towing stripes only during the day...might be another job for BenzNinja to sort out?
Is the rotary light switch on A ( auto ) ?
Daylight only activation for my car is when rotary light switch is at A (auto) and Ignition ON is the activation.
Next clockwise setting at the rotary switch = Daylight and the 2 big LEDs will be on as that is MANUAL mode for Low Beam and Parking Light.
Parking Light is Daylight, same unit, just different application for different circumstances

On Auto with the light feature enabled then all the lights are on and the only way to get the LED stripes active is to turn the dial to the left so only Parkers are selected and active, it's looking like another weird Jap only feature.

Basically my lights are all Off or all On unless you turn left to select parkers...then the other pain in the **** is you need to turn them off when you switch off the engine as they will stay on.
My US car with full LED lighting and in auto mode will illuminate only the LED arrows during the daytime. They are the daytime running lights here. Yes, your car is set up differently and I assume can be reprogrammed.
@ Aussie_E350_Wag I also have JDM spec W212 Facelift that had a similar issue. I took it to a mate with the Star diagnostic tool and he was able to code the daytime running lights properly.
Prior to this, when you switch on the DRLs the lights would all be on and the most frustrating bit the tail lights would also come on. When I would switch on the parkers they would not be as bright as other similar cars and the tail light parkers would also be on.
After coding, only the LED strips come on when you switch on the DRL on the cluster and the tail light parkers do not come on.
I think the JDM spec has a different DRL code.
