W212 Crash - "Comfort Box" Now Orphaned - Needs New Home!
Our W212 "Comfort Box" is available, since it is no longer needed after the car accident (vehicle totaled and replaced by W222). Please PM me, if you're interested.
Incidentally, the W212 performed admirably in the accident:
Here are some photos, in case you're interested. Happy Motoring!
Grateful for Mercedes safety engineering!

Incidentally, the W212 performed admirably in the accident:
- Pyrotechnics -- Front airbag, Knee airbag, Side curtain airbag & belt tensioners (front and rear).
- Hazard lights turned on automatically.
- Engine shut off automatically.
- Front windows lowered a few inches automatically, to allow dust/smoke from airbag pyrotechnics to escape.
- mbrace called Mercedes SOS dispatch automatically; they called our local 911 dispatch and relayed our exact location. Consequently, EMS response time was very fast.
Here are some photos, in case you're interested. Happy Motoring!

I'm not sure that all W212s have the mounting holes for the CBox in the rear seat bulkhead.

The other driver was ticketed for: #1 failure to obey a traffic control device (i.e. running a stop sign), and #2 failure to yield; warned for improper lookout.

But it does have a place when securing smaller but heavy objects from rattling around in the trunk Like 2-gallons of milk, etc.

Yes, it messes with the trunk height when stuffing roller boards in there. I use the webbing bungees on either side to secure tip over objects like wine bottles. We don’t drink milk. Lol

Sorry I mentioned 2-gallons of milk... I guess I should have written 2-gallons of moonshine. Geez...
Fun fact... The only mammals on the planet to consume milk after weaning are humans. And... cats don't like milk, they drink it for the water in it... we just think they like milk. My parents fed several cats from weaning to death on water only.
Now, about that Comfort Box... Just as some W212s had "pass-through" rear seats, or non-folding rear seats... and others not (the bulkheads are different), I am not convinced that all cars had the same rear seat bulkheads. Anyone looking to adopt a rescue comfort box should check their trunk, first. That's all I meant to write.

it’s a unique basket of sorts that pulls out from just behind the rear seats mounted under the rear shelf area. It has a spring loaded bottom and flexible sides so when you place a grocery item on the bottom it unfolds downward and creates a “box”. It keeps your stuff from flying around the trunk area. After you have retrieved everything you push a little button and the bottom zooms up to the top and you push it back into the rear shelf area like closing a drawer.
