crazy cluster....
The cluster is usually a realiable well built module with a gold plated board, well scrutinized to prevent odometer tempering.
You can use a handheld scanner to scan the car now but ultimately Xentry will be needed to relax this module security.

Hi guys so I recently bought a 2015 e350 as a daily driver and after a couple of days the mileage on the cluster says mileage 999980. It stopped counting on the mileage but trip still counts. It used to be at 50k miles. What could this issue be the dealer is 2 weeks out for appointments so gonna have to play the waiting game but extremely worried and confused on what this could be. Low battery? Bad module?
can be a canbus filter installed to cheat mileage that went wrong
can be your cluster partially dead
can be other devices with mileage in it that went wrong

fraudulent sale vs. cluster...
You purchased a "50kMi" car and couple days later the mileage odometer goes wonky...

Even $50 scanner will read "mileage at last service".
When in USA Carfax makes odometer rollback not really practical, in Europe it is common that a car with 100k km shows "last service at 250k km"
OP choose not to disclosure his location, but in America cluster replacement is dealer-only.
