MB E350 2014 front door (R) has cracks & pops noise
Hi
I am newbie , I read couple of posts but still have some question. I bought few months ago never had this issue.
MB E350 2014 front door (R) has cracks & pops noise, I read its due to amplifier in most cases. I have un-plugged Amplifier cable (left side in the trunk) to save my speakers., (Now no noise / no radio)
* Pls advice should I replace Amplifier ? Are you sure it will resolve the issue?
* Found one 2012 E350 amplifier . Do you think It will work?
* OR Should I go to MB service to diagnose for codes? (I don't want to spend money to diagnose only)
Pls advice what steps should I do ?

A - install a used amplifier
B - involve the dealer
> The easy answer is B: drive by dealer service.
> A- Used amp: if you try to simply swap a used amp unit, chances are it's already bad or nearly as bad as yours. Go ahead try that way as you please.
DIY is not hard but it's no child's play.
> Other options are:
- Get your unit repaired.
- Buy a new mint unit.
- Try to fix amp. yourself.
Last don't forget to test the physical speaker itself.
If coil as been overheated it may be in short-circuit ready to kill next amp you through at it.
Choices are yours to match expectations.

You've diagnosed your current Amp as bad and want to get it working again... you're seeking advice on your next step:

It might be okay
You're going with the shortcut way, I respect confidence but don't just expect the moon or perfection.
TEST BEFORE REPLACE - You self diagnosed a "bad amp..." me not know that .... (beware of unknown devices such as "rat traps": you replace the amp then boom... One more shot!)
In previous post mentioned speakers
What about the speaker .... good/bad?
FYI:
If you don't have a scanner buy one before going forward.
Disconnect battery when working on car.

Always best to have someone pull codes using Xentry (MB diagnostics), find an independent. Reluctant to do so, check affected speaker if fine move on to amp. Here are compatible part #s shop both used.
