Safety systems not working in 2015 E350 4MATIC

Hello all,

I have a 2015 E350 Sport and it comes will almost all of the safety features except the parking assist and Distronic. The problem is everything is activated but they do not work, I have reset to factory settings, turned everything off and on again, and tried looking it up. The car also does not perform the beeping sequence when you start it up. The car is in very good condition and has only done around 36,000 miles. The car does not beep when the blind spot senses something, it doesn't vibrate the steering wheel when drifting out of lane, the collision detection does not beep, the attention assist does not work. Everything worked perfectly when we got the car in 2018 but since then they have stopped. everything thing else works in the car except the safety systems.

It would be nice to find some answers to why this happening!

Have someone erase stored codes and do a quick test using Xentry (MB diagnostics).

How would I do this? Should I take it to the dealership? I do not have any experience on working on electronics.

You can contact BenzNinja (Peter) to remotely erase codes, perform quick test, check systems: https://mbworld.org/forums/private.p...newpm&u=449763 , find an independent shop that has STAR, SDS, Xentry, DAS these are all names assigned to MB diagnostics, none available visit MB dealer.

Do you have warning messages? Did your Eco start / stop function stop working as well? Do you have any idea if your batteries are original?

Whenever I have electrical issues the first thing I do is check the status of the batteries. I have two MBs and both have given me issues when the batteries were in low state of charge. Even after charging the batteries some issues were not resolved until a "full reset" (as Cali calls it). This means disconnecting both the main and auxiliary batteries at the same time and letting it sit for 15-20 minutes before reconnecting them.
  1. Charge main battery
  2. Charge aux battery
  3. Disconnect both batteries for 15-20 minutes, reconnect.
If you already have a battery charger and minimal hand tools this is free and easy to do. Then you can move forward to scanning codes and what not. Just my 2 cents. I've started with scanners and reading codes just to come back to finding it was a low state of charge.

3 steps for better ownership....

Benz ownership should best involve these purchases:
  1. "Best or Nothing" automobile
  2. CTEK float battery charger
  3. Handheld OBDII scanner

This will help you enjoy your MB to a fuller extent with more performance and less repairs.

Marginal voltage promotes disruptive glitches. That adds up to unnecessary expenses.

2014 E550-sold 😩
^ Absolutely what they said. Low battery state of charge will start by eliminating unnecessary functions, so the car will get you to your destination. You should be getting pop ups telling you some of these are indeed disabled.

I didn't get any warning messages but the Eco Stop/Start has stopped working. I have not checked the batteries but maybe I will. Thank you for the tips!

preventing issues...

charge your system battery full then try to figure out why it got discharged....
  • tired old battery
  • radio sound while parked
  • long parking drain
  • poor charging system

Notice on my e250 that when the car sits all weekend and leave for work monday the eco button light is not on and it wont turn on. After my drive the next startup it will be lit green and i can turn it off.
i have original batteries i think and know i am getting to point of needing replacement. Just wanted to share what mine does. After a good recharge the eco button light will be lit every startup including 1st time in morning (so rest of work week).

Also twice i have had glitch where the colission warning stuff hasnt worked, was always fine after restart. If the mirrors dont have yellow triangle after startup in parking lot its probably not working. My batteries are old and these electronics dont like weak electricals.
