If 212, you’ve got to love that reinforced A pillar, as I would say it did a heck of a job!
Scan that little QR code in your driver’s side door frame with your phone camera. It will show you where all of the airbags, gas cannisters, and reinforcements are located in the car. A pillar is one of the locations with enhanced protection..
It's just creepy and just unpleasant but good for the driver . Not to mention , that W204 is barely recognizable and lacks tons of airbags unlike present Asian cars that would score 5 stars in NCAP
A solid testimony to Mercedes-Benz's protection
LOOK UP!!!
Honestly, how do you not see a truck?
Midday, clear, dry, straight roads.
Short of a medical emergency that lead to the incident, Darwin got cheated. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co...-left-27341419
Nope. Seems the driver is just someone who cares not about the world around him., and saved a ton of money by not being insured. Or licensed. But at least he was speeding.
Darwin got cheated.

TEXTING.
We live on about 1/4 mile stretch of road, who is closed on both ends. Neighbor's camera registered a women, who drove straight into street end bushes without touching the brake pedal.
Since the street is very short, she did not manage the speed, but managed lack of attention.
In this sample >60 mph on residential street would indicate more problems.
thought this not supposed to happen or least not as severe?
why have all these nanny safety things if they do not work? and just make cars more comples and prone to CTRL-ALT-DEL repairs?
Ahh the memories of weekly commutes to downtown Chicago. When not reading books or tablets; then its applying makeup, digging in purses and even shaving in ones rearview mirror.

One can have all the airbags in the world, but without pure blunt strength, they’re useless. This is why I tend to stick with the german cars. The sheet metal on this 212 is impressive to say the least. Same on the wife’s x167, but not as thick as the 212. I can’t find it anymore, but when I was considering the 212 as my first MB back in 2017, looking at Youtube videos, I remember seeing one where the car had flipped over onto it’s roof on the autobahn going like 120mph, and the guy was barely hurt.
Even that old 2015 Golf GTI I had, was a solid piece of steel. It’s been a few years, but remember seeing an article maybe in 2019 that said not a single person had been killed in a Mk7 Golf to date. Amazing, considering what a GTI wants to do, and what they’re like when they cant do it anymore (uncontrollable).

there are no visible tire marks? not even an attempt to stop. The only visible tire marks are from the towing
Not even a driver's reaction to avoid. Besides cheating Darwin (as @rapidoxidation mentioned), there may be more to the story: street racing and boxed-in?

If you scan the QR code, it’ll show you something like this. This is my 2014. You can see the reinforcements on the A and B pillar (teal). This QR code is probably for first responders on where to cut an occupant out safely.

it's a W204. What is ironic is that the W204 didn't perform all that well in the small overlap crash testing.
