W212 low fuel pressure
Hello my wife and i was out driving and suddenly the car started to lose throttle response and engine light came on and then it died. And would not start. Checked fault codes and hade 0087 low fuel pressure. Figured it would be the tank pump cause it had made some noices but that was not it and to my suprise when i lifted the tank pump i was looking at metal flakes. And i am no mechanic so i dont know but im guessing high pressure fuel pump has faild. And i have changed commonrail sensor also only getting 28800 kpa fuel pressure car has 18000 miles on it.

What pressure do you get from the tank supply pumps, near 60psi?
You report 18kMi with work on common rail sensor.... that's a lot of bad for such low mileage -- 180kMi maybe??
This is a one-way returnless system. No shavings from HPFP piston should end back in the tank. How does the tank filter look: plugged up by misc contaminents ?

Metal in the tank most likely come from the outside. Check your last fuel receipts.
But filtration system should take care about it, till it get clog.
Read the low and high fuel pressure.
With lack of prime pressure, you need to replace fuel tank filter (sock) or/and tank prime pump.
Beware that W212 has "saddle" tank, who makes 2 separate bowls and proper rotating of fuel pump Venturi leg is crucial.
I think some models have 2 electric pumps, so check WIS with your VIN.
Thanks for the tag Cali

Okej well i replaced the pump on the passenger side left side so to speak if u stand infront of the car. Cause it was pulsating. And the pressure reads 4 bars on the computer not sure if its high pressure or low pressure. Havent checkd with a proper tool yet

4 bars = 60 psi for prime pump is on low side, but should be OK.
What is rail pressure now?
