Tire pressure sensor dead after flat tire repair

Hi, my 2013 E350 4matic is 10 years old now and the tire pressure sensors are still original. I recently had a flat tire on the rear right wheel. I took off the wheel and fixed it with a flat tire kit then pumped it to the specified pressure. It runs fine and no leak in the two days. On the third day while I was driving on the highway, the low pressure warning light came on and shows the tire I fixed had no reading, the other sensors reads normal pressure. I stopped and checked the pressure for the rear-right tire, it was still good.

I reset the system but the warning light didn't go away. I think the reset was only to set the reference of the current pressure but not to cleaning the warning message. I wonder if there's anything could go wrong after fixing the tire? Or it's just coincident that the battery was dead after the flat tire? It was relatively warm when I fixed the tire. It was snowing on the day warning light came on, wonder if cold weather may lead to a dead battery too?

I've also looked some OEM sensors on eBay and see some listed around $50. The OEM part # is A0009057200 but I only see A0009050030. All of them says compatible with my model. Would this # work? I'm thinking to buy the parts and bring to a local shop to install them. It seems like no special programming is needed as they can re-learn themselves?

Cold reduces battery output. So does age. Your problem is probably due to both and nothing to do with fixing your tire.

I know Sam's Club carries compatible TPMS sensors, but will install them only with a tire purchase. You can check TireRack or Amazon. Or FCP Euro with their lifetime replacement policy. Both of these are shown to fit my car. $25 for the Autel sensor is hard to beat.

Not sure about the Autel one, but the Mercedes one appears to be plug-n-play. You may want to contact FCP about programming requirements for the Autel stem.

Had the same problem with my original front left tire sensor on a 2011 S212 without the tire change part. The battery inside this particular sensor finally gave out but the others 3 are still working. I ordered the Huf sensor from FCP Euro at @$45 and had a tire shop install them when I replaced all four tires just recently. The Huf is already programmed at 433 MHz to mate with the MB system so no programming or activation is required. It took about 15-20 mins of driving after the sensor was replaced to clear the tire pressure warning light on the cluster.

Autel one needs the proprietary Autel programmer to jive with the system. I just checked on FCP Euro site. I replaced my one sensor with the Huf one recently and it paired up with the system without additional programming after driving 15-20 mins.

I personally went with the Huf because it had two five star reviews as opposed to the Schrader one. Any purchase on FCP Euro is awesome because of their lifetime warranty.

Thank you all for the quick response. I'm thinking to replace all 4 together. I see some listings on eBay like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/16646537112...3ABFBM7t-ByKVj

The price in your posts are ~$50 for one but this link is a set of four. The package looks like Genuine MB parts. Do you thinks they are OK too?

If the price is too good to be true, buyer beware. Check out the seller's negative reviews for the past month...he's got 7 negatives with someone alleging counterfeit goods. I would personally stay away. Imo replace the one faulty sensor from a reputable online supplier and get to the others when they fail in the future.

I bought TPM 3 times from this seller in last 5 years. All of them work the way they should.
18,000 reviews can speak for themselves.
There is no programming on MB sensors. Whoever says so, is giving you BS.

Just want to come back to update the status. I ordered the parts as @kajtek1 recommended from eBay and asked a local shop to install it for me. I assured them that it will work and I don’t need their warranty. The total cost is $50. The car recognized the sensor after 10 min driving. No re-programming needed. Many thanks to @kajtek1 and other folks who provided the information!
