Charge movement flap error - repair or replace manifold? Also, which gaskets to buy?
Subscribe2010 E350 with M272 engine with 110k miles.
I got the "charge movement flap" error that appears to be common to the M272 engine.
Repair kit is $155 https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/272ADJKIT (plus a can of throttle body cleaner)
Replacement is $313 https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/AH-2721402401
Is replacing it worth the difference in price?
I know I will need the left+right intake manifold gaskets.
Will I need any other gaskets?
I'm thinking

Wow suddenly the M272 Intake Manifold been going bad plenty within this 2 weeks. 3 cars including yours.
Get a Pierburg replacement unit complete. Cost a bit more.
Here are what can go wrong with this intake manifold
And your vacuum hoses will be cracking too by now, those with curved shape and made of rubber.

Thank you for recommending the hose replacements. Do you have the part numbers for the common ones?

I was just helping a member yesterday.... read post : #150 https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post9047578
Those in red and with R is already torn. In red without R, is risk of tear soon.
.
Since I can't see item #40 & #60 hose, I can't comment but Tesna's car being a 2010 , that hose will tear soon.
Item #50 seems to be hard plastic line, that could live longer I think.
Item #70 and # 150 are thicker rubber than the hose. May live a bit longer.
In my car, all these equivalent hoses ( my M276.820 Turbo 3.0L not so much hoses like M272 ) get replaced by 10th year. It's done already.
Test your vacuum pump small port where hose #30 is connected. Use hand vacuum pump. It should hold vacuum, because there is a membrane inside that port/connector body.
The membrane allows SUCTION by vacuum pump, but not allow pressure out. So for your test from opposite side, it will hold vacuum when you suck it with hand vacuum pump.
If the membrane inside the port fail, your intake manifold flaps then has no vacuum power to move/actuate the vacuum actuator and the blades/flaps inside it.
Oil will also be a lot out of that small vacuum pump port, if membrane already damaged/torn.
Emergency fix, 90 degree special hose #30 is torn. https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/1170780581
So I replaced it with 4mm x 9mm silicone vacuum hose.
Good luck on the troubleshooting.............

Unrelated to the charge movement flap, I got P2123/0073 for the accelerator pedal.
So in the end I needed two intake manifold gaskets, a throttle body gasket, and six injector lower o-rings.
