Need Help Disabling Auto High Beam and Fixing Right Front Headlight Issue (W212)

Hi everyone,

I’m working on my 2013 Mercedes-Benz W212 and facing an issue with the Automatic High Beam Assist feature. Here’s the situation:

1. Issue Summary:

• The automatic high beam assist feature is active on my car, but my vehicle doesn’t seem to support it.

• The right front headlight high beam doesn’t work at all, though the low beam functions perfectly.

2. Steps Taken So Far:

• I connected to the car using Vediamo and backed up the codings for SAMF_172, HLI_F, and HLI_R modules.

• I’ve identified a parameter named VCD_Parameter_Fernlicht, which seems related to the high beam functionality. However, I’m not sure how to proceed to disable the auto high beam or whether there are additional parameters I need to check.

3. What I Need Help With:

• How can I completely disable the Automatic High Beam Assist feature using Vediamo?

• Could the right front high beam issue be linked to the auto high beam functionality, or is it likely a separate wiring/bulb issue?

• Are there specific parameters or codings in the SAMF_172, HLI_F, or HLI_R modules that I should adjust to resolve these issues?

I’d really appreciate any advice or guidance from those experienced with Vediamo or similar issues.

In my 2010 model there is a selection in the cluster menu for the automatic high beam assist. If I turn if off there is no high beam assist in my car.

I will assume you tried moving the high beam lever towards you to turn off high beam assist? did you try turning that off then turning your headlight switch from Auto to on, then trying brights to see if brights function in right front headlight manually?

That makes no sense, your Xenons only have on and off, this headlight uses a flap to create low beam and raises for high beam, what codes are you getting from the scan?

Potential issue could be related to:

Module Replacement: If the module was replaced with a used one from another vehicle, it might have different software. - I replaced the module same way

The ONLY way to fix this mismatch is to reflash (or update) the module's software using the official Mercedes-Benz diagnostic system, XENTRY/DAS

Or maybe Vediamo can handle that, need help with it

Your flap for high beam is stuck or broken, so you should be getting a code that states that, if the low beam was working the module was fine, Yes, if the module was replaced it needs coding to your car. do you have a code reader that will pull Mercedes codes?

Unfortunately bar code is no longer visible on the headlight

I think it is not broken - I tried and turn on high beam from Xentry some sort of testing environment - there is options that you can simulate high beam and low beam

Well, I meant a code from the code reader, it will tell you if the flap is stuck, I believe you need a new headlight, unless you can get it unstuck by banging on the lens with an open hand, yes, this actually worked for me. there has got to be a trouble code fault showing up in the diagnostics.
