2013 E350 4matic sedan Suspension options

I just bought a 2013 E350 4matic sedan and the suspension needs to be replaced. I would usually go with an H&R or KW coilover suspension but they don't seem to make for the 4matic cars. Does anyone have some suggestions?

Thanks!

What's wrong with your suspensions... everything?

you can look at fcpeuro or pelicanparts dot com for complete kits of original parts to preserve normal chassis handling.

Don't overlook both sway bar springs!

I noticed a cracked spring at the base of the rear passenger side, and the ride height could use some lowering. The sway bars have springs?

He might have meant sway bar links.

ECS Tuning has lowering springs for Mercedes wagons ECSTUNING.com You'll likely want to replace the other suspension components that are tired at the same time like shocks, struts ,etc. I believe the springs are H&R. I dont know if your car is sport or luxury, if its luxury 585, this will lower the car 2 inches I think

Front + rear sway bars ARE torsion springs.
Their soft bushings cause them to become bouncy and ruin shocks in the process.

That is correct. I didn't consider that interpretation of what you wrote!

The links are much easier to get to and replace and are really cheap. They're almost certainly shot though. A great, quick performance upgrade. I just did my fronts.

The sway bars on some of these cars are a right ***** to change though. The front sway bar on the sport 4matic W211s for example...

By the way, I still have a set of front and rear swaybars for a W211 4matic sport if anyone needs them (never got around to swapping them out before the car was totaled)....

there's like 3 or 4 different sway bars for W212 based on chassis options.

Our F/R sway bars are made special with bushings 1/8" thick vulcanized directly on the bar.
Typically the $200 spring bars are supposed to be replaced when bushings become useless.

However there are excellent Chinese bushings available at wholesale prices on AliExpress based on diameter.
Can these bushings adapt well???

Mercedes-Benz CLK 550
W212 4MATIC SUSPENSION OPTIONS

WHEN IT COMES TO UPRATED SUSPENSION BUSHINGS - AT K-MAC we have the experience of manufacturing longer then anyone else - Since 1964 !

WITH PROUDLY IN-HOUSE MANUFACTURE - not sourcing CCP imports (in fact bushings for virtually every model Mercedes Benz 1968 to 2024).

The 4 front “highest wearing” bushings we have also included BOTH “CAMBER AND CASTER” ADJUSTMENT AS WELL.

SPECIALLY DESIGNED SO “BOLT-ON” - NO SPECIAL TOOLS OR NEED FOR CONTROL ARM REMOVAL.

BECAUSE OEM THERE IS NOW ONLY BASIC TOE (DIRECTIONAL) ADJUSTMENT.

Brought about through cost cutting and ever increasing speeds of new car assembly lines. Stopping to adjust is no longer an option. Now Front Camber and Caster along with rear Camber is set to suit showroom height conditions.

NO LONGER ABLE TO ADJUST TIRE CONTACT ANGLES SPREAD LOAD MORE EVENLY.

PUTTING ONUS BACK ON OWNERS TO FUND COSTLY PREMATURE TIRE REPLACEMENT. With passengers side excess edge wear through high cambered roads or edge wear both sides through altered height - extra passenger loads or lowering. Fitting wide profile tires or curb knock damage.

SAME WITH REAR SUSPENSION.
Uprating of the two main rear suspension bushings and also same time providing rear Camber adjustment. Kit also uprates the two Toe bushings (and doubles the existing adjustment range).

THIS REAR KIT CAMBER BUSHES CAN BE REPLACED ALSO WITHOUT SPECIAL TOOLS OR NEED TO REMOVE CONTROL ARMS.

REMAINING REAR BUSHES ARE FITTED TO THE 6 MULTI LINK ARMS. Replacing, uprating these bushes significantly reduces rear end flex. Allowing “tauter response and traction”. Especially when applying power to lane change / overtake.

I used Kmacs on my W124 and had to switch back due to the squeaking. Others told me this would happen but, like so many things, I had to find out for myself

KW makes the v3 coilovers for the 4matic, I have a set on my wagon. The rears were too tall as they were designed for the sedan, but I can verify the fronts work on a 4matic.

They’re designed for long term maintenance free operation. Re instating Camber Caster adjustment to suit Mercedes Benz models.

In production now 31 years (1993) - 1,000’s adjuster kits sold. Allowing adjustment to change tire contact angles - spread load more evenly.

Squeak - only if time of alignment the 2 bolts not fully tightened. Stressed, highlighted (see sample instructions - Spoiler showing W212 4MATIC Front and W124 Rear sheets).

It’s basic - allowing the hardened teeth inner bushings and the external hardened teeth washers to fully clamp - Otherwise noticeable noise (movement from brake and acceleration). If ignored yes destruction of clamp teeth, bush failure !
