Apologies if this is a stupid post but I am clueless when it comes to wheels and hoping others with experience can chime in. I have a 2011 E550 cabriolet. Stock wheels - 18x8 (235/40/18) FRONT and 18x8.5 (255/35/18) REAR. the wheels are the 6 spoke design which I believe have a 45-49? MM offset.
I have been looking at 5 spoke design wheels and came across a local ad for Porsche Macan 5 spoke wheels. Bolt Pattern is the same 5x112, 18x8 and 18x9 wheels with 21+ mm offset.
I love the design of the wheels and was wondering if these would work for my car or not. Any insight is much appreciated.
Any time you purchase a set of wheels, you need to look at three things , the bolt patterns, center bore size and the wheels offsets
The center bore is the wheel hole that fits on to the wheel hub extension, the part that the wheel sits on and where you put the center caps on
they do make hub centric rings (that fits inside the wheel hole and changes the CB size ) making the wheels fit but if not sized correctly you would always have vibrations
Find out the CB sizes and see if the Macon wheels are compatible or not?
also the correct offsets- the bigger the number, the more the wheel sits in and, the smaller the number the more it’s pushed out
I have been looking for these wheels but cannot find anything that is in good shape - all damaged and curbrashed to no end.... I have seen cls wheels and S-class wheels but mostly 19/20's im trying to stick to 18's for ride quality.
