Rear Trunk not aligned
Does anyone know how to fix this gap and make it flush with rear fender.
Attached picture of trunk
The other left side is flush and no gaps.

They are adjustable.
Rub some chalk on the ends of them, then when you close the trunk lid and open it again the chalk should transfer to the frame, if you dont see any chalk transfer it means they arent touching the frame and need to be extended more.
can anyone post what would be the real solution other than what was mentioned above?

I believe the issue is due to previous owner tried forcibly closing the trunk lid on oversized item that doesn’t fit trunk and something got bent but I cannot figure out what moved.
I do see the issue on other Mercedes classes as well but there is no clear instructions on how to solve it other than going to a bodyshop to fix it.
Having owned alot of BMWs, I think BMW has more robust trunk lids compared to Mercedes.

Someone tried to forcibly close it with too much shlt in the trunk.
I have done this before. Have a few years in a body shop. Misalignments are often corrected with brute force. It's even how we align doors, albeit with a special tool, but all it does is bend the door hinges/shell metal back to correct alignment.
If it was forced and bent in one direction, you're just reversing the action, whatever it is. If you're afraid to stand on it (don't know how buff you are, if you can push on it and correct it with upper body and arm strength, then have at it) use a tool. Make a breaker bar out of steel pipe or something and use Archimedes' Law of the Lever. This really isn't a big deal. You'll get it corrected, then in about 3 weeks you won't even remember it was a thing.
