From W210 to W212 Wagon

After 20 years of ownership (and 382K miles on the odometer), I've decided to retire the W210 wagon and replaced it with a "new-ish" 2014 E350 Sport Luxury Wagon with 150K miles (I know that's a lot, but I do my own work and if the W210 is any indication, I hope that this car will last just as long).

It's definitely a feature upgrade (I'm liking the 360 camera, the cooling seats, the panoramic sunroof that I have to repair).

What sort of things should I address right away so I can extend the life of this car? I know the W210 had that weird issue with tranny oil migrating to the computer (that I addressed right away)... do the W212s have similar weird issues as well?

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ECU dyno tune; EDOK TCU tune; BB intakes; sprintbooster
Yes the solenoids (camshaft adjuster magnets) and camshaft position sensors and a few other items seep oil into the main engine wire harness and can creep to the ECU in the m276; install the pigtails

I bought Experian Autocheck report and there are no open recalls for this car.

Good to know and thanks for the link. I will look into this when I tear into the engine. =)

Picked up a ‘13 E350 wagon with ~145k mi from my stepmom recently. Regularly serviced, by dealer first 120k miles. Put on my lift for initial oil change, immediately spotted rusted out rear subframe! Clear as day, and ready to separate rear axle/suspension from rest of car!

Dealer replaced it no questions asked, even had the subframe in stock! ‘Happens all the time’ per SA. Nice to get bushings refreshed for free at 150k miles too!

I worked on my air bags this weekend (and made the mistake of buying $130 Amazon specials that ended up leaking right away... the right side original bag did not leak but in this case, both of them started sagging. Ended up ordering Arnott bags from Rock Auto... at least the next install will be way faster). Anyway, did not see any corrosion at all in the rear subframe (or anything underneath for the matter). This has been a California car all of it's life...

I replaced my S212 rear air springs with Arnotts @3 years ago. Still performing as expected.

It's day 2 after install and they haven't sagged yet. I could do one side in 30 minutes so there's that... lol! The Arnott units look and feel superior in terms of quality compared to the Amazon stuff (the boots on the Amazon springs slid around, did not have alignment guides, etc).

While I was working underneath, the pesky lift gate kept opening. I didn't realize this has a foot sensor option. When I do try to toggle the lift gate purposefully, it's not consistent however. Does anyone know what type of sensor they used? Is it optical and easy to replace?
