Torque values for replacing belt tensioner and pulleys
Got the FB0034K set from Rockauto and looking to replace the belt, tensioner and two pulley but I can't find the torque values. Can anyone help me with this? 2011 E350 base sedan with M272.98 engine.
Torque values for the tensioner bolts is 35nm and for the pulleys bolts is 25nm. It is recommended to put a little bit of blue loctite to the all the bolts as well.
I replaced everything today. It was tough to pull out the ribbed pulley and once out, the washer behind it was severely deformed. I flattened it the best I could and put it back but now I'm wondering if I should buy a new one and replace it or just let it be. The INA belt that came with the kit is a bit longer than the Gates K060945 belt that was on the car but engine runs fine.
The new pulley should come with everything, you should not have to reinstall anything with that pulley.
Did the pulley come with a new bolt and washer already installed?
The smooth pulley should come with just the pulley, no bolt. With that pulley I reused the old bolt. Mine also has a small washer installed between the engine and the pulley that I reinstalled.
When I removed my smooth pulley there was a washer behind it. I dont think many others have this washer. I kept it and reinstalled it since the new pulley did not come with anything else, just the pulley.
