Vaccum line replacement cost

So while dealing with the torque converter issue, I was told that vacuum line under intake is leaking and was quoted $960. I didn’t ask for details on whether this covers replacing all the hoses yet, but I’d like to reach out here to get your opinion what should this cover and if this looks reasonable. (this is at a dealership). Does this require engine removal ?.
Appreciate your replies. Vehicle is a 2015 E400.

In the notes, it says "vacuum line under intake". After some re-search looks it is for plenum / resonance flaps

You know this sounds odd ! The vacuum lines for the intake plenum flap actuator don't see a lot of straining.

On the flip side the shared tiny check-valve at the pump go bad routinely due to high crankcase pressure instead of vacuum.

MB Dealer network does not sell the $1 plastic part but the whole pump only...

Search for it on Internet using keywords " vacuum pump check valve":
tiny check valve cheaper than whole pump...
tiny check valve cheaper than whole pump...

They mentioned it is making hissing noise which appear to be the hose as per their explanation.

Are you hearing hissing at idle... that's failed PCV diaphragm.

Free 1mn test:
does opening the oil filler cap stops the hissing??

Test the suspect vacuum line first before you proceed any further
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...rity-test.html

M276.8 3.0 Turbo of E400 does not use vacuum actuation for intake flaps like M276.9 3.5NA. There is no such intake flap on 3.0 Turbo.
The thin small vacuum hose #20 is routed close to intake manifold......... is only for turbo wastegate controller.

I have replaced mine, both #20 and #10, preventive.

It is easy DIY. Only lift up the wire tray for engine computer and disconnect almost all engine sensors connectors ....

Good luck...

Thank you @CaliBenzDriver @S-Prihadi for your replies. Sorry for late reply. Vehicle was at dealer and I couldn't do the tests you suggested. Work was complete and they replaced 2760182300 which is listed as Bleed line between Oil Separator and Turbocharger. This was either nearing failure or broken somewhere from previous fatigued condition during TC remove/replace work (was mentioned in notes, engine was lowered for R&R work).

They should replace the entire assy and not only the 2760182300. However this part has the duo-check valve which can fail.

The entire complete system : That fine mist oil separator A has check valve too inside. I have replaced mine, as a 10-11 year refresh.
