Need help with new order!
So I ordered a E300 for my wife's 33rd Bday yesterday and I just want to make sure what I ordered is what I'm expecting to receive. This is our first Benz and we are trading in her 2008 ES350 Lexus. So again, totally new to German cars. I appreciate any help!
We ordered: Selenite Grey/ Natural Grain Black Ashwood with BLK leather seat upgrade, P3 package, projector mirrors, AMG wheels, sport brakes…and I think thats it….we may add a chin spoiler on the trunk.
So my question is, is the leather seat upgrade worth it and does it come with those super comfy headrest pillows? We test drove a P2 and it had those headrests with the extra pillow on it. Is that a seating thing or a premium package thing? We didn't do the upgraded display because she prefers classic analog gauges and doesn't want to strain eyes by constantly looking at a computer screen.
So whats the deal with the seats and is the leather worth it? Thanks!

I think the leather is worth it for the feel and the aroma - to me, the interior looks and feels more luxurious with leather. On the softer headrests, I believe the come with P2 and P3, as they are part of the multi countour seating package. Also - I don't think you can get ventilated seats unless you get leather - I you get MB tex, the seats are heated but not ventilated. Lots of people really like MB Tex, even on heavily optioned cars, so I think you will get lots of different opinions...

I was in the same dilemma as you. I sat in and drove several cars with the artico and leather. I was not able to tell a difference between the artico and regular leather. However, there is a substantial difference between the artico and nappa leather. It's a minimally treated and stamped leather, so it does feel softer and of higher quality.
Another consideration is the seating pattern. The artico has a vertical pattern, while the leather has a horizontal pattern. Going to the luxury nappa, it has the vertical, while the designo has a diamond pattern.
As far as ventilation goes, it's available on all leather types. It's only available in the artico if you go with the luxury package.
In the end I went with artico, I had a w124 with it from back in the day and it still looked new after 12 years. So in the end the decision was sentimental for me. But either way you can't go wrong.
Note: the above is for the US market.

ok cool and yeah we added ventilated seats. In fact, that was my wife's only "must have" lol. ALLLL those features and she was stuck on cooled seats because she uses it all the time in the Lexus.
Also, as far as ordering. We sat with the manager and went on the normal US website, selected our options, printed it out and initialed next to each option. He said he would "put in" the order and the car would be here in 6-8weeks. I put $1,000 down after we worked out pricing. He knocked $7500 off sticker and gave us $8500 for the Lexus trade. Not bad I think…. how did I do?

My dealer searched all dealers in the SE region and could not find a P3 optioned car with ventilated seats, matte black wood, grey paint and leather seats. He said he would order one (2017), so if that's not happening then I'm guessing I'm getting a 2018? I'll call them today and get to the bottom of this.
Those of you that ordered, how long did it take? Thanks!

It's possible that the dealer made changes on a stock order that had a build date but was not locked. The car would definitely be a 2018 because production started June 1st.
Depending where OP lives, transit period is about 40 days. It will certainly be tight to get the car in 8 weeks.

2018 E300 started production at the beginning of June.
Check with your sales agent. If there are orders scheduled at the factory not assigned to a customer, they can be changed up to a certain point. That greatly speeds the time to get delivery.
My experience with delivery to Florida varies upward from 4 weeks depending on ship availability in Germany.

One thing: I used to drive Lexus LS sedans and the ventilated seat feature was fantastic. On my 2015 S550, hardly noticeable. If Lexus used the same system on the ES and if MB has not really pumped up the flow on the W213, your wife will be VERY disappointed.a

The fact that you don't even know if getting a 2017 or 2018 is not right.

So if you want the Drive Pilot functionality without the widescreen cluster, you have to get the '17.

Just got off the phone with them (Mercedes of Tampa Bay) and they are emailing me the spec sheet from Netstar later today. I'll update when I know more. He said he was able to spec an existing car up on the line. Very excited!
