Turn Off Fake Engine Noise

Is there a way to turn off the fake engine sound that is piped into the cabin? Those noises are overwhelming and ruin the ambiance of what could be a quiet car.

Not enough engine noise with the quiet package

Just took delivery of my E63s and my only complaint is that I can NOT hear the engine sound in the cabin unless I hit high revs. I bought the quiet package. I tested the standard non insulated version and found it too loud, not just engine noise but wind and tire. Just might be that there is no "fake" engine noise being piped into this model. Is there any way to turn up the sound so I get the thrill inside?

Open the window! Looks like you didnt order the "fartmaker" button, AKA, optional AMG exhaust!

As a matter of fact, I DO have the optional AMG Performance Exhaust System option ... the loud one I test drove also had it, but lacked the quiet Acoustic Comfort Package. That makes all the difference. Lowering the window does no good since I am traveling in front of the exhaust sound and the engine noise is also hampered by the acoustic package.

The same is true with my E43. However the 63 with the fart button is so obnoxiously loud (on loud mode) that I thought it would easily get through the quiet comfort add ons

Seems to be a matter of extremes. Even with the AMC Exhaust open, the quiet comfort package makes the interior nearly impervious to engine and exhaust sounds until you reach about 4,000 RPM. At that point you hear a nice, but relatively muted roar and just a couple of pops when you let up on the gas. Even the window glass is insulated. The package is very effective, perhaps too much so.

The drive program setting (Sport+/Sport/Comfort/Eco) makes a difference in the loudness of this abortion. I find it's quietest in Eco, loudest in Sport+ and it's definitely from the subwoofer, as there's a slight delay between the digitally piped in farts vs. the car's engine RPM.
