Traffic sign assist
Does “traffic sign assist” work here in the USA?
1. Does it dynamically change your cruise control speed to the posted speed limit?
2. Can you specify that cruise control speed be set to the posted speed PLUS 5 MPH?

I looked it up again. It is not fully automatic. You must push the toggle switch up when the car detects a lower or higher speed limit and it will automatically set to the sign speed. Otherwise you can ignore and the car will continue at the set speed. I thought. you could set the speed at 10 mph over the limit and the car would automatically set the speed at 10- plus the posted speed.

The car will automatically slow to a detected speed limit. Before I disabled that feature I was going the 45 mph speed limit when the car detected an inactive 15 mph school zone. The car unexpectedly did a max G slowdown to 15 mph. I was almost rear ended.

Found my problem: It was not turned on. My manual has two sections for this, page 175 and 225. There is a contradiction between the two sections. I will test it later today. Thanks for your help.

I've turned it off. As noted by UA549 it does recognize speed signs, but these include 15 mph school zones even when that limit is not applicable. Also when coming off an interstate (at least on my commute, probably other situations are better handled sometimes) it maintains 55 mph in a 40 zone until it finally recognizes a speed sign with the new limit. Bottom line: when it works its great, but be prepared for serious over and under speeding.
