Has anyone had this happen? I looked online at replacement parts but all the diagrams only display the 12v lighter adapter. Wonder if it's a warranty item, although I suspect it's not.
I'm heading to the MB dealer to pickup my 2017 E300. The dealer just replaced this port. Mine looked exactly like your photo, broken exactly the same way. I just bought this CPO E300 about a month ago, and it had the broken port when I took delivery. It was fixed under warranty, so I'll update this post after I get the car and test out the repair.
Got the car back from the dealer, but it's not fixed as the wrong part was ordered. Tech confirmed it's an easy and quick fix. Correct part has been ordered. Stay tuned for updates when the part arrives...
Fixed! Didn’t have time for the Comand update, but that’s on the list. Total time to fix less than 30 minutes. Seems to work well. Interesting however that once Apple CarPlay is started you lose MB navigation function. Text messages, phone, iTunes and Waze all work perfectly.

And Marc, the part is special order only.
Shouldn’t lose MB navigation. I use them together all the time. CarPlay Podcasts and MB Nav

COMAND supports active navigation through the built-in NAV or CarPlay/Android Auto, but not both at the same time. If you're using the COMAND nav and kick off a Google Maps navigation, it cancels the COMAND nav.

The white plastic pieces on both USB ports in the armrest console came out within the first 2 weeks of ownership. They were fixed under warranty two years ago. 3 weeks ago the white pieces on the USB port next to the charging pad came out. I will be taking it to the dealer when I get annual service done later in the spring. Strange that these are so easy to come loose.

Hi, i have the same exact issue. recently purchased the vehicle CPO and this port never worked properly. Mercedes of Massapequa would not warranty this item. I cant even find anything about it online. Any info would be greatly appreciated (part #, etc).

That is not what he is saying. He says that he uses apple carplay alongside the navigation...(not navigation part of carplay) in older firmware... mb navigation would cut when apple carplay was activated, but in newer firmware its possible to have carplay running alongside mb navigation... which making listening to spotify via carplay possible while running mb navigation.
i know this for a fact as I have been on old firmware and is now on new... in the same car

Hi, do you know the part number for that port? TIA
The part mention number mentioned for post number 17 is for the C-class
The E-class part number is slightly different 213-820-32-00. The old one can be popped out without removing the entire console. Do it slowly as it is surprisingly long module. (+3 inches)
Tip. Before disconnecting from behind the module after pulling out the module, tie a shoelace to the back of the wire to stop it from dropping back in to the hole. Connect the new one, verify connectivity and then remove shoelace and reinstall.
They can be ordered for about 55 to 65 bucks from most Mercedes dealers.

Hey i just saw this post and you seem like the person i need to get advice from! Im looking to change this part myself. does the old part just pop out with flat head screw driver? thank you in advance. Good tip about shoelace btw!
It would be tight to get it out with a flat bit based on the area being recessed. Ideally, you want to use a plastic trim removal tool the has a curved claw or a right angle. The metal of screwdriver will leave gouge marks. It may seem half way on removal that it won't get any further but it will come out with a bit of wiggling. Just be mindful of the right angle of the LVDS data cable. So when it is almost out you have to turn it slightly.

I've installed this so that I am not constantly pulling or tugging the USB cable or removing it from the port altogether: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless#/. It has the added benefit of making Android Auto wireless.
There is a full android box for the USB car play port that give you everything your phone can do, including the android auto wireless. However when you use that full box to get you tube/ net flix/ GPS/ play games etc, via a wireless keyboard or mouse you wont look back. It unlocks the video in motion capability. The cost between $260 to 320 US depending on brand. it may seem expensive but way cheaper that the iffy video in motion bypass cables out there.
The box automatically works with the touch pad, wheel and steering wheel controls. i just got a Bluetooth keyboard as it makes it easier to type in searches.
