$1500 OEM DIAMOND GRILL SWAP PROJECT

Hello everyone, I bought a CPO 2018 E300 from Fletcher Jones a few weeks ago for about 40k out the door. I realized I didn't like the stock grill and I was determined to obtain the diamond grill as well as the base plate emblem. After obtaining all the parts from the dealership (roughly $1200 for all OEM parts total) and another $300 from a shop to do the swap... my total for this project came out to $1500. I know, some of you are completely baffled and probably think I could have easily spent WAY less on aftermarket products that could be just as good. BUT, i was really determined for all the parts to be OEM due to poor aftermarket experiences/nightmares. Anyways, see below for pictures. Thanks for any comments or opinions (negative or positive)!

Looks great! That’s the route I was going to take until I fell in love with the panamericana style grill, which certainly wasn’t available as an OEM part for my car, so I went aftermarket and crossed my fingers.

I personally like your old grill better, as the diamond grill is being used on so many models now. That said, your work looks impeccable, as if it came from the factory that way. Good job!

I just put an aftermarket diamond grill on our e450 estate. Looks to be the same quality as the factory grill. You have to take the bumper cover off to replace the grill. The internet is your friend when looking for instructions. Took about three hours. Also put 10mm spacers on the front and 12mm spacers on the rear with longer bolts on both.

Hi! I'm looking to get the same spacer setup - what spacers did you use and do you have some more pictures to see the result?

I got the spacers and bolts from Blox on eBay. I have used the spacers from Blox on all of my Mercedes. They are black anodized and cnc machined. They have worked perfectly on every car I have used them on. Don’t let the low price scare you the are as good as any at a much lower price. If you have questions they get back to you promptly. I will try to get you some other pictures on the wagon.

Could you please share the OEM part numbers? I'm considering to do the same. Thanks!
