Wheel & tire insurance?? Must decide Saturday 2PM EST

My new car has 19 inch wheels. I'm wondering if wheel and tire insurance at $2300 is worth the price?
I don't really know if the rims are staggered on the all-terrain but I'm thinking about buying a rim and keeping it in the garage in case of an emergency and self-insuring.
For my 2015 S Class I bought wheel insurance, I live in New York City where there are plenty of potholes and I've been careful and never had a flat or damaged rim.
I would welcome any feedback or suggestions.
My MSRP was $88,400 I was given a $3500 discount. I was given 28,500 trade in for my 2015 S class with 107,000 miles.
THANKS!

Besides, I would ask why the OEM warranty doesn't cover the wheels (at minimum). If OEM warranty does, then skip the expense for sure.
Did you seek the insurance, or did they offer it to you? I can't remember the last time I purchased something that I didn't seek out in the first place.

I have never purchased it - although in my NYC days, I took a $4,400 hit from a pothole on the Bruckner Expressway - two wheels, two tires, and entire factory exhaust for my Infiniti M45.
I would probably pay $1,500 for the wheel and tire insurance - otherwise, the wheel in the garage and self-insuring sounds like the way to go.

UA549; I agree that you can buy a lot of tires for $2,300.
places; I asked for a discount on the car even though Streamliner suggested it would not be possible so I do not think I can ask for a another discount
DFWdude; no on the factory warranty
Chassis; they offered it to me. A little extra revenue... can't blame them for the attempt
Lanzz; The Bruckner has not changed, When I go to JFK I use Carmel (someday I will fly again.)
Thank you all for taking the time to help me.

i am not certain which one i now have but i do not believe it was nearly as much as what is being requested for the AT..My wagon has 18 inch wheels but if i was getting the 19 inch ones i would probably get the insurance...post some pictues when you can and good luck with your new car

Probably worth skipping. You can get a new set of tires at Costco for around 1k and that would include road hazard. While new wheels are expensive, you can get them repaired, usually bent rims can be bent back for around $100-$125 a wheel. As time goes on, the price of the wheel drops, you can usually pick up used ones or refurbished ones on eBay, just search by the part number.
Our C43 has low profile tires, in the winter I blew the front one over a pot hole and they replaced both front ones no questions asked - they were winter tires that were purchased separately.
If you are financing/owning the vehicle and plan to change out the crappy run flats anyways then you can opt-out.

Congrats on the new car!

In my case after two cracked rims and I don’t recall how many tires I probably would have had my premium rise obsurdly
high or get dropped.
