E63s interior trim change - need advice!

Just picked up a lightly used 2019 E63s wagon. I was lucky that I mostly got the build that I wanted but given the rarity of the car I couldn't be too picky. The one thing that's bugging me is the flowing lines interior trim. I don't mind it on the dash but really hate it on the doors...find it looks like a pin stripped suit! (Personal opinion of course).

Anyone have suggestions that won't break the bank? I could maybe keep the flowing lines on the dash and wrap the door trims in piano black like the center console but im afraid the wrap will look cheap. I could of course order piano black panels from MB...or change it with some kit I find on eBay.

Welcome your opinions! Pics attached.

VIN? I will pull door trim part #s to match center console gloss black if this is your intent.

Thanks for offering! I actually have the part numbers but was looking to not pay too much of a fortune...either wrap it or get an overlay of some sort.

Wait a while to see if you come to like it. Changing only the doors will look non integrated and will lower the value. Of course if you are planning on holding onto it for a long time that may not be a problem.

Many years ago my wife and I had to decide on the fabric for our draperies in our bedroom. My wife was agonizing for days. I said pick one and after it is hung you will have long forgotten the other two. Within a week she had forgotten the other two.

While the striping would not have been my first choice, I really think it is "OK" and predict in a week to 10 days you will get used to it - same as my wife with the drapes!

I also agree that changing may be very expensive and doing only the door and not the dash will look "strange".

I would just "live with it". BTW I have the same interior color with brown gloss trim in my E450 and I love it!

Just my $.02.

Thanks for taking the time to share that analogy...describes what I pretty well know deep down inside; it's my emotional side getting the better of me and with time I won't even notice time. In my youth I wasted a ton of time on the smallest of details for my car and I guess bad habits die hard...but at my age I've got bigger fish to fry! Thanks again for the common sense advice.

You are welcome! Glad I was able to help!

PS: There was a time when I was waxing my cars, I took off each wheel and cleaned the inside. Ditto when I changed over from winter tires to summer tires. I no longer do that. BTW, I think, could be wrong, that the "line" is unique to the AMG line.

I think the flowing lines are unique and look fantastic. Strange how personal opinion differs!

I drove it around a bit today and have to admit it's already growing on me. It wouldn't have been my #1 option - a matter of taste as you correctly mention - but it's looking better by the day

I know taste is highly subjective, but I love the flowing lines wood - also, probably not that frequently selected in an AMG model, so a bit unique as well. Congrats on the car in any case.

No, the “Flowing Lines” trim was available across all E Wagon models. We have a 2019 E450 Wagon with it.

Thanks! I'm on day 2 and I already I’m over it. What I really didn't like was the flowing lines with the colored ambiant lighting. The combo looked a bit tacky IMO. I put the ambiant lighting to white and that did the trick. Anyway im super happy with the car and coming from a Range Rover this is so much more fun to drive!

Then I read the first post my thought was I would trade the set if you were near me. I have the black ash and really wanted the flowing lines, but when buying used one rarely can get all the options we want.

@Streamliner

I've seen your vehicle on this board before...I think you were thinking of changing your trim, no? Anyway I saw this and told myself this combo looks awesome. Really a beautiful interior in my humble opinion. Looks great with the lines.

@TugboatBill For sure a trade is the best way to go for those who live close. I was actually looking at the ash since there was a set available on eBay. But as my level of offensiveness dimmed, I was no longer convinced that it would make a huge difference. The carbon fiber would've def given it a sportier look but at that price I will most definitely take a hard pass!

Thanks. I made the mistake of letting my wife drive the wagon and it instantly became HER wagon. As mentioned in this thread, within a few days, the trim was no longer an issue and we have come to love it. It is such a monumental shame that MB no longer offers these gorgeous, Luxury Trim wagons in the USA. I would just love to order a new one. Oh well.

Thanks for the clarification.

I am glad in my post I said "I think, could be wrong" !
