Drive/System Assist WARNING/Suspended...what does this mean???
I just got my 2018 E300 4Matic out of the shop about a week ago (for the Service A). The car has been fine. Today, I got into the car and this popped up on my steering wheel dash! What happened? I went through all the settings, it says that the system is enabled. Is it broken? Has it failed? I also notices the additional two things -- SOS Not Ready and Passenger Air Bag Off -- and I have no idea what the first one is, and what to do about the second one? Why would the passenger air bag just go to "off" (for no reason) -- unless something was wrong. Right?
These things should be covered by the OM warranty, right? I am at 45k miles. Everything was fine until I brought it into the dealer for Service A. Now something goes wrong?
I was hoping the resident experts might have some insight or guidance on this -- thank you very much in advance!

Take it back in addition to correcting request they do a Xentry (MB diagnostics) quick test erasing all stored codes and confirming no current codes documented on invoice.

I don't even know what most of that means -- other than taking it back and asking them to correct everything -- so I will be calling them.
Is the passenger airbag not meant to be off unless the passenger seat is occupied?
I don't know...and I never noticed this before? Possible, but not probable. So would this setting/display be correct with the passenger seat empty (which it was)? Thanks.

YES, the passenger air bag is off unless someone is sitting in the passenger seat. That sign has been on every car since smart air bags. It’s just not obvious on some cars.
SOS NOT READY simply means the emergency system in the car isn’t ready. This could be if you haven’t renewed your subscription. Or the in car phone is out.
Hi
I have a 2017 e400 wagon according to the owners manual, page 39-42 the passenger side air bag automatically can tell if the seat is occupied. There are a few warnings listed
such as heavy objects placed on the passenger seat could turn on the airbag. If a passenger occupies the seat the seat belt must fastened.
When the car starts it performs a self test - if there is an issue it will show a image of the seat with the airbag deployed- you probably should look it up as I’m not sure I can describe it correctly.

If Attention Assist continues to read suspended have dealer check it. Xentry is a diagnostic tool used by dealer reason I suggested it is to proactively check vehicle for any fault codes to correct any additional matters that may not be apparent under warranty. SOS not ready may mean that you have not subscribed to the mbrace Secure service offering.
The thread title is misleading and I think you are misunderstanding a lot of the cars functions.
The warning is about 'ATTENTION ASSIST'....nothing to do with Drive/ System!

If it's misleading, I apologize. It was not my intention, and while I may have used the wrong term, I am more not aware of the problem than the functions of the car -- although, at least as it relates to the Attention Assist feature, if I am not familiar with it, I apologize. In part, that's why I asked. Thanks.

No need to apologise. ....my point was that Attention Assist is not an important function that causes the car to be unsafe in any way..
I hope you get it resolved.
the car computer is trying to get your attention because your overall driving style is like you're falling asleep behind the wheel.
Such as driving over road markings with limited steering inputs.
If you're sick of this function just disable it through the menu options... problem solved!
A warning message pertaining to "PreSafe brakes limited..." would be a real cause for system concerns - This message is to warn you about yourself!
