First Benz !

Hi everyone.
just recently became proud owner of a 2017 e350d
and even though i am familiar how to use the tech and everything i am not so sure about the mechanical side of thing
the car is equipped with air suspension and this is my first experience with it
i would appreciate any help and tips regarding how durable it is.
Given that roads here aren’t the best i drive extremely cautious and slow.
what Would cause a problem to the suspension and what kind of bump or hole is no biggie for it
thank you guys

Congrats on your new Mercedes, you will love the ride of the air suspension. With that said, I had a Mercedes with air suspension in the pass and will probably never owe another car with air suspension. The rubber suspension bladder generally fail after a few years, it is a common wear and tear item and a very expensive one at that.

I for one love the air suspension, more reliable than the older systems. It's not really an expense you'll have to worry about for a while

I had air suspension on my previous w213 (200D) and could absolutely not feel a difference with my car before that; a w212 with normal suspension,
Weirder yet: I feel my new w213 is a much smoother ride
Even going from comfort to sport suspension never seemed to really do anything.
The only advantage was that I could raise the car a bit, which helped in some parking garages and "rough" terrain...

Thanks for commenting on this. I find the same thing in my 2018 E300. I may not be the type of driver who would notice a difference. However, that said -- how exactly do you "raise" the car a bit? By changing the setting? Which setting has the car sitting at the highest? Thanks!
