It does wear it off quicker but isn't the smiles and enjoyment of the vehicle purchase worth more?

I would rather they last, how much when they go bad I wonder??

I think I will keep it on #4 at most.

Regardless of brightness, they should outlast the car. LEDs have a very long life. The failure is usually something other than the light itself.

It depends, I seen people complain about their LEDs die prematurely on W213 s, that however might just be because they are defective.

True about LED they do last a long time, but at full blast they do get very hot I assume, and heat is never good.

Yes they do generate more heat that way.

Generate more heat? Perhaps, but getting too hot as to cause them to fail faster? Not unless there is something wrong with the electronics or the LEDs. Have there been reports of cars with ambient lights burning out? Unless there are, you are worried about nothing. They may fail, but not from being on too bright and generating too much heat. Enjoy the lights and save the worries for something else.

Yes, there are reports however I think it was because of defective LEDs so yes I agree, it is the least of the worries for OP. Many other things can and will fail sooner on the W213 than ambient lighting.
