Hello,
Recently purchased a 2019 Mercedes E450 with 80k kms (50k mi). Screen says service b6 due. What is included in b6??? I don’t want to go to the dealer for this. The dealer I bought from just had oil and filters replaced. Some online sources say sparks are due now and some others say they’re due at 100k kms. Can someone please help me out here? Perhaps if you can share an original service interval manual that would be amazing!
thanks

There are many service posts here, but I'll save you the trouble of doing a search. This covers the W213, not just MY18.

Out of curiosity, did they return the plugs to you and if so how did they look?Originally Posted by mbwagonnc

It all depends on the model and year of the MB. For example, when I used to take my W212 in for a 60,000 mile B service it was an Oil & filter change, brake fluid change, the engine air filter, cabin air filter and a tranny service (filter + oil). Originally Posted by forumqueen

I believe it used to cost around $1400, mostly because the transmission oil and filter are expensive as hell.
I however change my spark plugs on my E300 every 30,000 miles. Is is overkill? Probably. They don't look terrible when I inspect them, but it gives me an peace of mine when I swap them and I can inspect them to see if there is any oil on them or if they've changed color. They're not too terribly expensive either to change early.
I would highly suggest doing them your self to save you a ton of money. I believe the spark plug service alone at my MB dealership was more than $500 for 4 plugs, i can't imagine what they're charge for the E450 with 6 plugs.

Didn't look at the plugs. 50K is the required service interval for the 450E engine and felt reasonable to me. Pricing wasn't outrageous. Bundled into the overall service pricing but $224 for the plugs and $200 for labor. Nothing compared to a SLK350 that my wife owned and you had half of an air intake apart to get to the plugs. And cost of keeping a great engine well maintained.Originally Posted by JTK44

I use this link for reference: https://www.sbautocare.co.uk/2023/01...s-a-b-service/
B6 is a B service (new oil + filter + more detailed health check) with additional Air filter replacement, spark plug renewal, brake fluid replacement and sunroof cleaning and lubrication. I would suggest that unless your car is under dealer warranty, find an independent Mercedes specialist mechanic in your town and get them to do it.

Spark plugs are a maintenance item you want to service before you begin experiencing misfires and diminished fuel economy. Replacement every 50K miles works out to pennies per mile.
