Nice to have, but USA hasn't finalize the projections on the road warning about repairs or closures. Time will tell. Also USA has approved the digital headlite to dim on oncoming traffic bu not implemented. We have the hardware like the rest of the world.

I thought you were in the US, but also thought that sound drive was not so I figured I would make sure. I sill find the projections underwhelming and very limited. ILS has been approved for a while in the US, but for whatever reason, MB is dragging their feet enabling it.

BTW, I checked my Apple Music and it's still under Apps. It's also still in Media under Online Music. I still have the same version of MBUX since the 3.2.2. a.k.a. E270.1-5683 update 2 months ago.

Has anyone had issues with the welcome / farewell projections displaying in an incorrect size / location? Sometimes it works perfectly like videos I’ve seen of other vehicle’s welcome / farewell projections, sometimes it’s tiny and separated (like in the attached video), and one time in a parking garage it projected the animation into the ground instead of the wall across from the car.

The projection is intended to be 20-30 feet in front of the car and on the road. If there is a wall in front it will naturally look small since it is aiming for much further away. The surface of the road will affect the image as well. An uneven surface will distort the image in all sorts of ways. Personally, I find the projections rather disappointing. I rarely park in a way that they will be seen. There is usually a car, tree, building, or something causing them to not really show up correctly. In my garage, it's the wall and they look like what your video showed. Add the fact that it must be dark and it's an elusive effect.

Reading through this thread I see that only L1Wolf has made specific comments on whether the projections package is worth the cost. See Post# 68. How do others feel? Worth the $, or are you essentially buying a hello/goodbye light show? Some comment that isn't worth it if you are too close to what the light reflects off of. My 2018 had a decent start up light show that I think was part of Active Headlight Assist, which was essentially auto-dimming high beams and cornering lights. The current US version of digital light seems to offer auto high beam and cornering only. You pay for the greeting show.

Today I received notice that software update MBUX 3.2.2 is available. And the current offer from shop.mbusa regarding projections is; monthly ($5 per with free trail month), 12 months for $35, and permanent activation for $110.

I'd love to hear how those who have purchased the projections function feel about it. Is it worth it? After reading this thread, I'm inclined to hold off for "a while" to see if MB finally activates full ILS, If not I may consider having a 3d party code in that function, which I believe also activates the projection features. Since MB can now read that coding changes have been made there is some confusion regarding vehicle warranty. So it wait and see for now.

I think the projections pkg is worth the $110. It’s nothing spectacular but you only miss the 110 bucks for a short time but get to enjoy the projections from now on. It’s neat when you’re in a parking lot at night. I don’t regret buying it.

I have yet to see the assistance projections actually work. I do enjoy the welcome/exit animations. They spark joy. ;-) If there's a trick to get them to activate I'd love to hear it. I have a '24 as well with the latest E333.8-58 and... no dice. The car does do the welcome / exit animations, and I've got all the options enabled in the lighting settings in MBUX, and have "auto high beam" enabled as well and dynamic low beam.

At night, try to veer out of your lane so that the lane keep assist is activated. You’ll see a triangle projection on the road guiding you back to your lane. If you have the active cruise control activated and initiate and lane change by tapping the blinker you’ll also see a graphic appear on the road indicating where the car is headed. I haven’t seen any road projections other than these two as it’s harder to simulate the pedestrian images etc.

I had my digital lights activated when they became available. Recently I noticed that the Welcome/Farewell digital images were no longer working. I checked the settings and found that this feature was turned off. I selected which one I wanted and when exiting the car, the Farewell images weren't working. I checked the settings again, and they were turned off. It seems that even though I select one of the choices and exit setup, going back into the setting and it is turned off again.

Has anyone else noticed this. I have an appointment on Dec 2. The car has the latest version of MBUX.

Cancelled after free trial month (16,4EUR/monthly, 165EUR/year), overpriced for the current functionality available (welcome projections, getting back to the lane triangle)

In parking lots, there is not enough room to see them well with other cars and obstacles in the way. Quite rare actually. The lights you get while driving are minor and only happen in very unique circumstances. You get a lane change projection if the car is changing lanes for you. You get an arrow if you drift into the left or right lines. So far, that's it. Considering it's a feature that is only applicable when it's dark, there is not much value there. Not really worth the $110 I paid to enable them IMHO. Maybe there is more i haven't seen but so far it's very disappointing.
Do you know when the projections work when opening/closing the car? Mine is parked kinda closed to the garage door and is lit. I have not tried it on a dark open area.
The projection symbols when driving on the road is not very clear and very dim as well as the HUD blocking a bit of it. Now I understand why the new 2027+ Digital Lights are ~40% brighter.
