Belt Wrap Kit for Supercharged M113 motors

Belt wrap kits ready.

1) Increases belt wrap of crank pulley and supercharger pulley to help eliminate the dreaded belt slip
2) Stops loss of boost from belt slip during peak loads and when clutch engages
3) Uses ASP idler pulley with high speed rated ZZ bearings.
4) Promotes longer lasting belt and less dust
5) Test have shown any where from .5 to 1.5psi of boost increase during peak loads
6) Easier to tune car with more consistent boost levels and less fluctuation during peak load
7) Easy to install and kit also braces the double idler pulley`s to eliminate them from flexing under load . This double idler flexing causes belt tension to decrease and more belt slip.

Looks great Shardul. Once it cools off and I start my next round of power mods I will have to add this to your pulley, Fabtech 82mm TB, 550cc injectors, and MBH headers.

I thought this will be different, but it looks like the old Vrus kit. Looks like PITA to change the belts. Good price thought.

Vrp kit has a spring tensioner on it. Takes about 20mins to change a belt.

Shardul - I was looking at a recent log I did in 3rd gear and noticed the boost is not as flat as I thought it would / should be....Any idea what the boost curve should look like when the belt is NOT slipping (how many psi fluctuation is normal) ?

You will see a (+/-) 1 to 2 psi deviation under normal conditions. Also, boost is variable thanks to the little throttle body under the SC. You will see boost step up as you accelerate.

Here you will see the minor variations, as well as the step up.

WHen the belt slips (depending on how bad and for how long) you will see BIG drops (5+ psi), If you are in the 1 -2 range, you are seeing "normal" behavior

Here's a video of the belt wrap kit in action at idle. This is with a 175 lower and the smaller upper pulley. Volume warning if you're wearing headphones:

I installed my new Belt Wrap Kit last night. The install was very simple & I only needed a few hand tools. The install time was about 40 minutes. The Belt Wrap Kit is heavy duty and will work great with our engines I am very happy with this high quality product. I did a little test run after the install & noticed rite away big improvements. My SC engages smoother and the acceleration is improved especially from 3200 rpm and higher. I noticed big improvements between 40mph and 130mph & then backed off the throttle.

Thanks....I think I am in the 2.5 psi range....I'll look at the belt and see how it looks (very new)....I did notice a lot of belt dust though the last time I had the hood up.

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
Looks good, however, based on past results, what long term testing has taken place on this? Miles, issues, etc?

Thanks,

A lot of the belt dust settles around the lower crank pulley main seal, especially if you have any oil there. My upper pulley area and lower oil pan in front is covered in belt dust.

The larger the lower crank pulley, the more the belt will tend to slip. I have seen them slip on the dyno on stock cars to modified cars. Lot easier to tune without the slip as well. Belt wrap kits are very common on many of the high production supercharged cars and have been for years. Belt slip on supercharged cars , has long been a performance issues. Especially after you modify them.

What tune is recommended with this setup including the smaller S/C pulley w/stock crank pulley (assuming it's required)?

If you go smaller top pulley a tune would be required **(highly recommended)

The choice of tune is entirely up to you. All the major players have tuned this modification.
