We went into a local dealership today and talked to the salesman and he gave us some info although it's hard to say if it's accurate or not. He said they were already taking some orders for EQBs but they still had a few slots open for June delivery. Confusingly, he said the orders were for a 2022 EQB250 although the order guide makes it sound like the 250 wouldn't be available till model year 2023.
We sat in a GLB250 assuming the EQB would feel pretty similar and it was pretty good. The third row was much better than the Tesla and definitely usable for kids.
Two questions we have are (1) Is the EQB going to have the same interior dimension as the GLB or will the battery in the floor cause a loss of headroom. (2) Are Mercedes getting marked up way over MSRP? We skipped on the Kia because dealers were asking up to $10,000 over MSRP which is just ridiculous.
Right now, the Merc is in the lead and we'll probably order within the next few weeks if their prices are reasonable.

on #1 not sure - I watched plenty of EQB videos on YouTube though, at least a few must cover the difference
#2 shop around. When I considered replacing the G550 with an EQS I found a dealer that would let me order or get an inbound unreserved (config locked or not) car at MSRP
good luck and thanks for the field update!
Every manufacturer is having to plan inventory and orders based on chips.
As far as performance goes, a friend of mine from another german car mfg club test drove the MachE and offered less than satisfactory reviews on handling, suggesting that the car was built around existing Ford technology and combustion platforms. He went with a certain other manufacturer for his EV and bought an E300 to handle the days when his business travel required 300+ miles per day.
I don't know the answer for everyone, but for me, I'd really like to get the EQB. I think it is beautiful and I have faith that Mercedes is going to do things right, even if in small volume at first.
Best, WDV
