A Couple of Gremlins Showed Up

Driving home yesterday (having driven about 20 miles) and these guys showed up:

Also, note the tire pressure notification ... I wasn't able to take a pic of detailed message about the tire pressure

The Operator's Manual says to "Drive on" or stop and turn the ignition off; then restart. If the messages don't go away, get help from service center (or something to that effect).

I checked and reset the tire pressure the next morning when the tires were cold (41 front; 46 rear). I test drove the car around the block and the gremlins seemed to have gone away. Drove the car again today for about 8 miles ... no issues.

Just thought I'd share in case someone can shed some light on what that was all about.

As weird as this sounds but those error messages are caused by the low tire pressure. https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...ml#post8710149

Yep. That's because any driver assistance function that depends on the stability and integrity of your tires cannot assume that it is operating normally. Thus, as a safety precaution, it disables those systems until the tire pressures are normalized. In some cases, I've noticed that the tire pressure values were normalized too high or too low, and it just needs to be reset when the tires are at optimum pressure. In short, sounds like all is working properly.

Thanks for the explanation that helps clarify why it happens when tire pressures are low.

I'd urge caution here. If Gremlins show up, cannot Pacers and Hornets be far behind?

Thanks for the link. I read the whole thread and am glad that it was just the tire pressure that caused it. No need to see the dealer about it!
