EQS SUV Scheduled for Unveiling on April 19th

The third row is also confirmed to be optional (similar to GLE).

Some pictures are out. Interior looks more like a 3 row GLE than a GLS to me.

Motor1 said in their initial ride in size its between the GLE and GLS, and like the GLE the third row is optional.

In the photo it looks smaller than a GLE, the second row legroom is less than our GLE. The third row looks very tight like the GLE. If this is GLS price with GLE space then that would be disappointing.

Here’s a review from Car & Driver, which is much betterer than the Benz blogger one on YouTube above.

I have a BMW iX on order and will buy it when it arrives (June/July) but I'll most likely order an EQS SUV because Mercedes knows how to do luxury so well.

Ditto!

BTW it's likely there will be both a 450 and 580 version both with 4Matic. If the 450 has the same battery, Hyperscreen, 4Matic and more range, it could be the one to get.

While the third row is more akin to the GLE, I think having it as an option at all is a great way to pretty much dominate the market, as the only other 7-seater EV is the Tesla Model X and I think this will be much better with its more upright roofline. Speaking of shape, I think because it has a more traditional SUV look than the EQS sedan, it will likely be easier for some to stomach compared to the sedans more controversial look.

I agree, the 450 should be more than enough for the general market, and likely provide decent range despite the aero challenges of the SUV shape.

We'll only create forums for cars that are nearing the production status. The EQG is too far from that stage.

We will however cleanup the Model line-up & descriptions

At the same time this looks more luxurious to me than the GLS

This seems like a valid reason to me to start an EQG Forum, and there are numerous online articles confirming the same: https://www.chasingcars.com.au/news/...f-the-company/

It will be a 2024 model with pricing and ordering to take place next year, in 2023. Regardless, I will keep my eyes open for a forum at some point in the future.

That's different than the info I have. Do you have any additional info (not C&D)?

I have a deposit on one with a dealer and they are confirming it will be a 2024 with pricing and ordering in 2023; however, I do not have any proof directly from MB itself. I also subscribe to Google Alerts on the EQG. For example:

Understood. Dealers unfortunately have no advance information and the info I see are for product release in 2024. That means Europe will call it a 2024 model while the US will call it a 2025 although I have seen MB do some silly model year designations lately (like on the W223). Based on the timing that should have been a 2022 from the get-go.

Rest assured, once there is actually a sufficient amount of product info we'll launch this. Next up is the EQE (X294) SUV

If it will be a 2025, then it can't be delivered till January 2024 (federal rules). That's disappointing. That means they are leaving the luxury SUV EV market to BMW for 1.5 years.

The EQS SUV will be out sooner, the 2025 estimate is in regards to the EQG.
