EQS SUV news and rumors

Interesting in this video that he says "with the seat all the way forward" third row headroom is comparable to the GLE. What does he mean by that I wonder

2022 Mercedes EQS 580
I tried to order an EQS SUV yesterday. Dealer has a list, but they want over MSRP (didn't say how much over). They want over MSRP not just for 580, but also for the 4MATIC model below the 580 (probably the EQS500 4MATIC SUV).
For me this was a dealbreaker. I will either wait or find another dealer. I don't think over MSRP for a car delivered early next year is sustainable with the US slipping into recession in the next few months.

I agree, there is no list for a model that has yet to be released. I texted the SA at my local dealership to ask if they would honor a MSRP deal for the EQS SUV. I'll post his response when I hear back from him.

I called my MB SA and all they said when the EQS SUV becomes available for ordering, they will put my name on one. Any dealer could make such a promise but that's all it is, a promise, not an order. And this assumes MB will not be doing preorders like BMW did with the iX but I'm thinking they will do the same as it generates instant revenue.

Not bad. I’d drive that. Although I’m hoping the AMG version will do body colored fender wells, unlike this one with the stupid black plastic.

I definitely prefer the SUV's design to the sedan as it looks a bit more traditional. Only complaint would be to shorten the height of the grill panel, but looks good. I can't tell but it looks like the cladding on the AMG-line variant is gloss black rather than unpainted plastic of the Luxury-Line model. I don't mind the cladding here is its actually nice and thin but helps it look still like an SUV unlike the BMW iX which gives off a more MPV/hatch look.

Guess we'll see soon. Is it just me, or does it look like the cladding on the AMG-Line model is gloss black rather than just unpainted, or maybe my eyes are deceiving me?

The cladding around the rear wheel well continues into the black section of the rear bumper which appears somewhat glossy so I would say your eyes are spot on.

I like the rims on the luxury line model, not so sure about the rims or color of the AMG-line but I think this will easily be a hit. One of the only other 7-seater EV's available on the market, and the styling I think is more traditional thanks to the SUV body shape so will be easier for most people to like/tolerate. I even don't mind the cladding. Would be very interested to see the AMG-Line model in Nautical Blue, as that is one of the best colors for the sedan counterpart.

think so too - big hit. But personally really don’t like the black cladding around the wheel wheels for an amg line trim. If that’s indeed what they’ve done it’s a mistake in my eyes, as I’ve always preferred body colour for that and it seems to me that’s general consensus so might be met with a broad sense of disappointment, confusion etc.
