I want to order a 450, but you can only get the hyper screen in the 580. I think that is a big deal for many, it is one of the coolest features in the EQS line.

any idea about other GL/GLS features like soft close doors and rear sunshades? I have those in my current 2014 GL and seems like it should be available in this expensive vehicle.

Also seems like if I go 580 and I want the 3rd row like in my GL, there is only 1 rim choice and no trailer hitch as mentioned.

580 “on order” (not really, as we all know) but I’m killing it if I don’t get the rims I want. Could of course use these as winters, we’ll see

Hi all. Have a few questions:

*what is projected range of the 450 compared to the 580?
*for the amg version, any word on whether it will have an extended range / larger cap battery?

We don't know, but from the sedan we know that the 580 gets 10 miles less range per battery than the 450 RWD.

AMG version has the lowest range of all of them - a significant drop from the 580. Same battery as 580. It wouldn't make sense to put a bigger battery in the AMG as that would add weight, and the whole point of an AMG is performance not range.

I'm hearing from dealers their allocation states January 2023. Does anyone know when SOP is? I heard last year there were a lot of delays for the EQS sedan to get started building.

Build dates are middle of Jan 2023. Probably won't see that car before spring.

They deliver faster because they are made in the USA. It's not like ordering the sedan.

Don't forget that the model still has to be certified for sale in the US. Seems like that takes longer and longer these days.

I haven’t. Honestly don’t see the value of it.

I charge at home on 50W 240v. I’m not sure I would take this car on a road trip but if I did I would plan out high speed charging into my route. My dealer did a road trip to South Florida in an EQS and she had no problems with high voltage charging in the route.

Part of being sustainable is you don’t buy things you don’t need and won’t ever use.

Production date moved form 1/2023 to 9/2022. No changes on order specs can be made now. We will see if it stays that way and if we find out msrp soon.

FWIW, my dealer said that these can be added to 580 builds starting in August for December production.

Update for me:

The Manufaktur Neva grey/Biscaya Blue Nappa interior was not available. So the dealer submitted my order with base Black/Space Gray leather and it is locked for September build.

I don't want to buy a Pinnacle car with all the options but without Nappa leather. That to me is a car which will be very difficult to resell. People who pay high MSRP for all the options, want Nappa leather.

So I declined, but now their manager kicked me to the back of the queue, so I have gone from being first on list with a September allocation, to back of the queue (3rd) with no allocation. I'm Livid.

I suspect none of these first builds will have the level 3 hardware for self driving

I think so, don't think its offered even in 2023 EQS sedan as of now. I may be wrong,
