EQS news & rumors
A typical run for me will mean a twisty 400 foot drop (that I now drive in M2, to minimize brake pad wear), into town, with resulting recuperation, but not generating additional miles in range. It’s an ameliorating effect.
Then, returning home up that 400 foot hill will consume more far more energy than I gained going down the hill.
At best, it’s not like my dad telling me his walk to school in the ’teens (1912-1919) was “uphill both ways!”

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

On the test drive, the acceleration was decent, although we hit a little traffic. Then I saw the shift pedals on the steering, forgetting that car doesn't have a transmission, and when I hit the "minus" pedal... I thought this car had died on me! Then I was told that's how you engage the regenerative brakes. Overall, I think I'm still keeping my GLS and E Cabriolet! However, I liked the presents they gave me: MB Cap, a pen and a mask!

Don't forget, you're sitting on top of the battery in EQS, which takes a lot of space. Just look at the side picture of your comparison pic. You can notice right away how low is the side window in EQS compared to S-Class. Actually, it's very similar to CLS.
Also, notice the position of the steering wheel on both images. You can see the steering inside the S-Class is not even visible from outside, but inside EQS it's almost next to your face.
