EQS US Orders (Confirmed Allocation)
Today after more than 8 months of waiting I was able to secure my EQS order. Unfortunately my allocation is a January production, so I’ll need to use my Tesla Model S a few more months. Happy however to have an ETA! Can’t wait to drive the EQS!

Looks good!
Getting those early 2022 allocations is not fun(mine is Feb). While waiting the extra few months is not the most annoying thing ever, missing the $7,500 incentive is way more annoying.
(Looks like Congress will change it for 2022 to exclude expensive vehicles)

Yeah, I agree. The doors where touted by MB as one of the stand out features. One I was really looking forward to them.

Avilent: That’s quite the build. Mine is somewhat similar, except that I have no use for rear seat upgrades and mine will be in Florida so no winter package. I went with same exterior color but opted for light interior for Florida sun and heat. I did add the infrared glass. My salesman is off today so I will find out if I got an allocation on Monday. I am 7th on my dealers list, put in pre order on June 1.

2022 Mercedes EQS 580
I just heard that my dealer has only 2 October build allocations and I am 4th on the list. Nonetheless it looks like one might drop out, and the other might hold out for an edition 1. Fingers crossed.

If US pricing for the EQS 580 starts at $159,000 (as some are projecting) before adding options, look for some in the queue to instead go for a well-equipped S Class at around $145,000.

These sites are guessing based on European pricing. It will be interesting to see where the EQS 450 and 580 base price actually lands for US buyers.

I had ordered my EQS from a smaller dealership close to us and they just received news of their allocations 3 - 450's and 1 - 580. Fortunately for me I'm first in line for the 580. here is what he just conveyed to me.
"Estimated time of a demo vehicle arriving in the US: November-December. The estimated production date for this order is the first ten days of February. In general it takes about 7-10 weeks for vehicles built in Europe to arrive here at the dealer which would mean an April arrival."
Damn, April is a long way off but the months seem to click away pretty fast the older you get, lol.

Just talked to my salesman. Their first allocation is for one EQS for end of January. I’m 7th on his list for a 580. At this rate I may be in line for a 2023 model.

I hear ya, I'm realistically looking at the 2nd quarter to take delivery....if they don't have the auto doors on it I may pass for the 2023 order too

The auto doors appear to be a cool feature but I would want to try them out first. They may be more of a nuisance than we know. One video I watched show a reviewer having issues using them in the rear.

Hey, I know that some car companies based their allocations on the previous year sales. Anyone know how dealer allocations are made for the EQS? Is it total sales? Is it total S class sales for the previous year?

There are dealer demo cars for the 450 that are already built and sitting in Germany.
Earliest customer cars are Sept and Oct production for both cars. VERY few 580's though.
If the car is launched on time you MIGHT see them before the end of the year.

I have been tracking GLS’s available for sale in NYC metro area for past few weeks.until 2 weeks ago, the inventory on Cars.com or Autotrader was tiny. Most dealers didn’t have it. However, in last 2 weeks, I see 57 GLS’s becoming available for sale and many of those are 2022 MY cars.
I have a 2021 MY GLS which sorta finished production August 18th but waiting for rear seat power module. I was told that it should be completed by October 1st but I checked with the dealer today and he said no change in status :-(
I would have thought that MB would rather get a near complete car out the door before switching over to make more new cars and shipping them completely. So disappointed. I am really tempted to go to MB Manhattan or MB Edison to buy one off the lot but don’t want to screw my dealer. That said, my wife is eating my brains out that we don’t have a family car anymore (only other car we have is a tiny Fiat 500c Abarth and that is a tight squeeze even for our small family…)
Anyone know why my car would be stuck while MY2022’s are getting g shipped out? FWIW my dealer said a VIN has been assigned and shared it with me. He said only feature it will be missing from my build request is the augmented reality.
