2022 EQS 450+
Got my new EQS

Purchased my new EQS 450+ on Jan 3rd. Almost immediately, went on a two week trip. Now I'm home, and loving driving it. The ChargePoint HomeFlex (recommended in US) was backordered, just arrived yesterday. The NEMA 6-50 plug (also recommended by MBUSA) was installed last week at some expense, since a run through the attic from the high voltage box on the back of my house was required, Installed the ChargePoint yesterday without any problems, linked to wifi and set up. It charged at 7.7kw from 54% to 80% in about 4 hours. Love the car. I don't want the hyperscreen, love the 450's setup. It is fast enough, smooth, quiet, and the Burmester is awesome. I have Premium trim with AMG external and internal accents. Love the rear wheel steering for parking, etc. Just had tint done ( a must in Texas). Can't wait to put some more miles on it, now that I have Level 2 charging at home. Traded my BMW M550 when I purchased.

2022 EQS 450+
I played golf with one of the local salesmen. Told him to call me if he had one available. This one came in, unassigned. It was exactly what I wanted, diamond white metallic with a black/space gray interior. It had AMG enhancements. So I went down to drive it and bought it on the spot. Love it.

AMG interior package? Have been wanting to know how the sport seats are in comparison to the standard ones. Thanks

They are much more comfortable and supportive compared to the standard seats in my opinion. Also the added dinamica suede door inserts are a nice touch.

The sport seats are very comfortable and supportive, fully adjustable. I can only compare them to the sport seats in my M550, and I believe they are better. I have no complaints about the car, it is wonderful. Charging is a breeze, controlled by the Mercedes Me app and the car itself, and the car is estimating 350 miles for an 80% charge. The rear wheel steering makes it very maneuverable in parking lots and tight spaces. It is more powerful than the E350 I used to drive, but of course not as powerful as my M550. But that is not why I bought it, after all. Love this car.

Congratulations. I also ordered the AMG interior on my 580. The steering wheel is much better-looking, and I really dislike the plain rubber pedals of the Non amg version. I also like the seat design a lot more. The headrests on the regular versions look "unfinished" since all the "guts" that are hidden in the amg version are covered by not so well finished plastic covers. The concept's seats were the amg seats, with the headrest integrated in the seatback so when they came up with the non AMG seats, the design was less well implemented (uglier).

Great feedback from all. Hopefully the supply chains speeds up, so we can sit in our sport seats faster....

I'm curious if your dealership upcharged you? It is crazy here in Los Angeles. +30K

I got quoted 30-50k markups from dealers around the LA area while I found a Cardinal red 450+ from the San Diego Area with a $10k markup, but I got them down to a $5k markup. It was worth it to me to pay a little extra to get a car on the lot that checked all the boxes for me.

AFAIK, I was not upcharged. The list price is what I paid. And they gave me 5K more for my M550 than bluebook value, which is what actually sealed the deal. They were very excited to be able to sell their first EQS. Alll the staff and leadership of the dealership came by to talk to us. It was a big deal. It was a bit scary, as our garage was not yet prepared. The dealership offered to charge our vehicle daily if necessary, until we got our home charger. Actually, I drive about 60 miles a day to the golf course and back, and the 115 volt charger which was delivered (as an option) with the EQS proved to be up to that challenge, as it would replenish the battery to 80% overnight each night. It is very nice now to have the level 2 charger at home, no worries now about running out of power.

60 miles on the level1 charger takes 20hrs. It provides about 3 miles per hour........ Better have a CCS station nearby.

Actually, I found that the 115 volt charger would take my car from 68% to 80% charge overnight. It took about 9-12 hours. I found it to be much more efficient than was predicted. It sustained my golf course trips (about 60 miles per day) until the backordered ChargePoint Home Flex arrived, and I got the NEMA 6-50 plug in my garage. No worries now, of course. Today I had not charged in three days, was down to 47%, and just plugged in. In 5 hours, I'm scheduled to be at 80%. Level 2 charging at home is the answer. And the car is awesome, I have never been in a situation where I did not have plentiful power. The quietness and smoothness, the interior luxury both from a tactile and an auditory sense, are limitless, Driving in total comfort. This is an awesome car!

That totally contradicts a few of the folks who think the EQS sucks compared to the ICE S Class.

It's a matter of taste, I guess. I personally hate the wood trim. The yacht thingy gives me shivers... The only one I find a little more acceptable is piano gloss, which everyone else hates. It does not mean it is bad for everyone.

It will not cut it in cold weather though. I used it overnight, gained only 2%. Temps overnight in the 10s here.

Yea, I must say, mine is in a garage which seldom gets below 50. I know cold definitely impacts battery function. Nothing beats the Level 2 home charger, for sure. And I like the wood trim, can't understand why the hyperscreen is desireable, since the third screen would be useless for my purposes ( I rarely have a passenger). To me, it's just flash. But, YMMV. It's nice that there are lots of options for everyone to satisfy their tastes. I'm usually the guy who has to have the absolute maximum options (my M550 had absolutely everything!), but I am quite satisfied with my 450+, thank you. This car has everything I use regularly, and all I need, IMHO. Hope you all find the one for you.

Please post some pics. I haven't seen one in diamond white. All the dealers in my area received grey demo vehicles. Even the dealers that received two cars, both were grey.
