Completely agree. Note, that though competent in all weather conditions, they are not very "sporty" to drive. In my book the new 'all weather' tires are what "all seasons" tires were supposed to be. As long as you are not looking for a tire that excels at handling they are indeed superb and have extraordinaly long tread life.
Check tirerack.com you can see what reis are available for your specific model and use the filters to check whats available for each type RFT ZP all weather etc. Best site.

My MB parts man wrote me this about the Michelin Cross Climate 2:
”know that I am happy to help you in any way possible, however this particular tire is not an item we sell at the dealership because it is not rated as a recommended tire for your vehicle by the manufacturer (Mercedes Benz). In addition, any non OEM recommended tire, such as these, that I were to sell you would not come with the Mercedes Benz Road Hazard Warranty, which is hands down the best tire warranty offered.”

Fantastic tire and my all time favorite. The tires I had on my E43. However they are a summer only tire. In snow they areabsolutely unusable. They are the standard tire on the EQS AMG. One of the best thing about them is that they last a lot longer than traditional high perfirmance summer tires from other manufacturers.

What I don't understand is the MB Parts manager telling me that the Michelin Cross Climate is "not rated as a recommended tire for my EQS450+by Mercedes Benz."
Can anyone shed any light on this statement?

OK< now what I'm seeing is that the Cross Climate 2 is intended for use with "lighter" sedans. The EQS45+ is NOT a "lighter sedan." Folks on other blogs are suggesting using a Michelin SUV.
Michelin"s site shows the CC 2 as suitable for both SUV crossovers and as EV Compatible.. Of course, they're selling tires, and M-B is selling cars.

They will only recommend what is OEM (aka what they sell). You will notice that for the same tire there is an identical tire at a a different price. The MB one has an additional designation MO which stands for mercedes original, sometimes they cost more and sometimes less. MB and other manufacturers buy the same tire but with particular secret sauces for their particular vehicles. That doesnt mean some other tire will not work well, it simply means that MB will not hold itself responsible if there is some particular difference from the ones specifically made for their cars. More noise, rougher ride and so on. On EVs in particular they are concerned about milage though if all else is equal, the difference will be minimal.

I don't think you can notice MO tire difference unless you are tracking, etc...Even when I asked about MO tires to MB customer service lady, she told me to call Michelin customer service. You have to check the tire weight rating for your tires, eg XL (Extra Load) rated meaning the sidewalls of the tire are stronger and capable of handling heavy load requirements.
I am surprised that parts manager recommended summer tires, esp when winter approaching. This is warning from Michelin, not to use summer tires below 40F:
You can see when the tires performance with temp. Summer tires turn to ice pug in winter...
My MB service guy recommended me to switch from MO Conti summer tires to All Seasons since 21" summer tires were not very comfortable to drive in NYC... Only ones available are the Michelin Pilot A/S 4 T0 Tesla OEM tires... I spent the spring/summer with them with no problems. Cross Climates are not available in 20"-21" tire sizes for my car. I see Tesla drivers are using both A/S tires in the Tesla forums...
I called one time MB road side service for my GLK, since I had a flat tire and bolts were over torqued preventing to change the tires by hand... He didn't say anything about what tires I had. Also you can use Michelin/Costco/Tirerack road assistance with new tires.
In a more recent thread on “Tires and Ride Comfort,” this was posted by Mr Kohl in post #9: “20 inch all seasons were added for the 2023 model year (and maybe the last few months of 2022 production) and as far as I'm aware they are not runflat tires.”
When options were available for my order, of which I took delivery on Dec 27th, ‘21, they weren’t offered.
Cool that they are now. Anyone able to advise what brands and styles of 20” AS tires M-B is shipping nowadays?

It took nearly 9 months for Michelin 21" AS T0 tires to be available at tire rack...I even called Michelin last year as they were planning to manufacture winter tires before A/S's. I ended up getting winter set, because there was no A/S stock available. Maybe Pirelli supplies might be better. M-F 8AM – 5PM EST

that’s a very early production EQS, a number of early cars with 20s also had all seasons.
Those look to be great tires, I think you made a great choice. Ours came with the Bridgestone Turanza which we’ve been happy with so far. But, winter is coming.

My car, with 20" wheels, was available only with summer tires when it came in last December - Goodyear (Germany) Asymetricals.. I think I've used nearly half the tread in less than 3,000 miles. Over half my trip miles are on are steep, hilly, and curvy roads.
Well, for better or for worse, after looking at every suggestion and link, I bit the bullet and bought the Michelin Cross Climate 2s.
Am told they will be mounted by the end of the day tomorrow.

Yes wheels. If you lived in the northern "tier" you would know many people have two sets of wheels. A winter set with snow tires and a summer set. The winter is called a set of "steelies" cheap plain steel wheels which you dont mind to bang around when you slide into a curb or chuck into a snow covered road crater that eats your rim. If you are a little more "fortunate" you just buy another sert of EOMs or an aftermarket set that looks nice. Mounting and unmounting tires from a rim twice a year is a pain and you run the risk of damaging the rims or the tire bead.

Well we are waiting.... How do they compare to the previous tires? Handling, braking, noise, range and so on. You can later let us iknow how they behave in winter conditions.
Due to illness, I haven't driven the card with the new tires.
However, I have never been one to concern myself overly with these issues.
I will rarely drive more than 10-20 miles at a time, usually much less, so I won't be able to comment on any changes in range.
I wear hearing aids, so doubt I'll notice any noise differences.
I'm afraid I won't be a very good source for you, but if I do notice something extraordinarily different, and can find the thread, maybe I can get it up here. Don't hold your breath, though.
I did say I put them on to be ready for winter - hell, it's not even Halloween yet.
