After Software upgrade to E329...
I believe this is going to grow.
As of the end of 2022, the current EQS Software has an ID of xxxE329 xxx.... You will find your current SW install in Systems > Info.
There are a great many differences in the home screen. I've only seen it once since my 12/29 upgrade that I had to convince my dealer existed. In my case, even though the download connection broke down four times, it took considerably less than the predicted or stated three hours.
Frankly, I don't have a clue as to how quickly I can can adjust to the new screen, or what unknown marvels or terrors lie under it.
I do expect it to be the source or cause of numerous reports or requests for help here, (and I'm assuming some will come from me)enough to justify this separate thread.
One thing that did occur for the first time was a "12 volt battery low" message. I immediate phoned dealer service, and was asked if it had come up in the car or in an app. It came up in my phone as I was checking my max recharge level in preparation for my upcoming absence. When I replied it had come up on the phone, not on the car screen, I said, "phone," and was immediately advised it was no concern unless it came up on the car's screen, Take it for what it's worth,
This covers all that I can tell now, and since I will be away from m car for the next ten days, I cannot be a source for answers until at least mid-January. I hope to see info arising here during this interim.
Good luck to all upgradees and to new owners. Please share your discoveries,

I believe this car got updated from E250 to E329. The majority have already been updated to E316 which makes it difficult to compare and share changes (still very useful to know).
I would charge the 12 V battery with a maintenance charger, it is the car anyway that sends the low battery warning to Mercedes Me (perhaps a different threshold). I often charge the 12 V battery even if no warnings appear as the car often sits in the garage for long periods.

Saw this in a June 7, 2022 article from Electrek that talks about OTA updates from different EV companies. Article on OTA from Several EV Companies
Through a partnership with Nvidia however, MB is developing an entirely new software architecture. This new architecture is expected to roll out in Mercedes-Benz’s 2024 models and expand globally from there.
Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz currently offers OTA updates every three months or so. However, those updates pertain entirely to navigation and infotainment features. According to Daimler, the luxury automaker has delivered over 12 million OTA updates to infotainment since 2013.Through a partnership with Nvidia however, MB is developing an entirely new software architecture. Not all MB OTA updates are for infotainment, there have been many telematics updates too. So far lacking big infotainment updates (like MBUX) not to mention control units like the engine control unit or similar.
But I think this thread was supposed to talk about E329 changes...

Navigation / map not showing real time status of charging stations
Last week I received the update to version E3.29. Now the car does not show the actual state of the charging stations. I tried to de-activate and activate the service. But this did not solve it. Does anybody have a suggestion how to solve it?

I can say with the s580 it fixed the non working hotspot. On my particular car, I gained an indicator in the HUD, music information in the HUD, and streetlight view: all missing features rather than new, that weren't working in my car.
I've seen no new goodies; no visuals, no menu changes, no additions.

The car will not let you know there is a new version available. I’m not sure where you can actually find out. I found out by someone posting here. I went to my service advisor and they weren’t sure an upgrade was available until I took my car in and they hooked it up to the computer. (Obviously I was the first customer to request this). They agreed to perform the update although I wasn’t having any specific issues. They said they had to have a reason otherwise Mercedes wouldn’t reimburse them. Took about 2 hours.

I told them I was shipping my car to Florida for the winter (from RI) and it would be a big hassle to arrange service in Florida. I’m a long term customer of this dealer so they took care of me. They made up a reason on the worksheet and didn’t charge me. Told me they also updated the maps, although I thought map updates were OTA.

I had to re-pair my iPhone after the upgrade, but I'm not saying the upgrade caused this. A number of screen changes - in Nav, the radio station keeps showing up, although I never turn on the radio.
I have only used Nav once or twice, adjusted systems a couple of times. The changes haven't bothered me yet, but I don't use any systems except rarely Cruise Control. That worked fine on my 70 mile rive home after the upgrade.
PS There was no charge for the upgrade.

I am now on version 316 with both of my EQS's. Last Friday, while driving, all of the assist systems failed and the heads up display went dark. When I parked, I shut the car down and restarted it. Everything was fine. Looks like another software bug that I hope version 329 fixes. Coincidentally, my drivers door handle which had been stuck extended for two weeks, started working properly again at the same time. The joke in the family is that the car has personality and likes to show its *** every so often.

Received Software Download
I received a notice on my main screen indicating a software download was available. The update was completed when I checked this morning, but so far I haven't noticed any changes! Still on 3.16.

Additional data to my post earlier this morning.
After turning on the car, I received a notice that 'Plug & Charge" are now ready to use. It further states it can be used on all Plug & Charge compatible stations in addition to the EA charges. This notice was also sent to my Mercedesme Connect app.

That one is a typical OTA update. We've had the same control unit updated remotely for our W213. Actually just checked, now there is an infotainment update available. Nothing for our W223 yet though.
