Mercedes Wallbox

Please let me know how this works. The only problem I've had with the ChargePoint is that when you schedule a charge to start later, the wallbox asks the car if it wants to charge through a series of clicks every 15 minutes or so until the charge starts. I had noticed the clicking while in my garage working. This worried me, although the ChargePoint folks said no worries. I stopped doing the scheduled charges and just let it finish, then unhook it the next day. Now I'm doing shorter charges (based on all the talk about short cycles being easier on the battery on this forum), and it is not a problem anyway. Now it finishes before I go to bed.

My concern is what happened to scheduled charging that was in this video at the 53 second mark. This would be the option if you wanted to charge during off peak hours and just leave the charger plugged in before you go to bed. Mercedes customer support has no idea and is no help.

For example if I come home at 5PM and plug it in and it won’t charge till after 9PM till it reached 80%. The only problem is once it reached 80% and stop charging the timer on the app still running.
So it might take 7 hour to charge from 20-80 but if you don’t unplug it the timer will continue to run but not charging. Timer stop when you unplug or set another pause time when you know what time it will finish charging to when you’re able to unplug it.
i know it take about 7 hours to charge from 20-80% but if you don’t unplugged it the timer on the app won’t stop but not charging. The leds on the wall charge still blue.
You just have to play with the setting. Your EV will make a series of clicking each time you make a change and saved your setting. That is normal.
like I said the Mercedes wall box have very limited setting not like the ChargePoint home flex.
Set state of charge.
Set the time you don’t want it to charge. My peak are 4PM to 9PM.

Yea, I know all that. What I'm saying is that, while it is waiting to charge at the selected time, my charger would constantly emit a series of clicks, every 15 minutes or so, for hours and hours. Maybe that doesn't worry you, but it did me, so I stopped scheduling charging. I'd be interested to know if the new Mercedes Wallbox does that. I know how to schedule a delayed start time.

Hey all, reading through the thread, I understand that to achieve 9.6kW, a 40A charging station is needed. Per the Walbox's (EVBox Livo) specs, max output is 32A, so I can only expect 7.7kW from the Wallbox correct? I thought I'd confirm as I would think the Wallbox would support the max 9.6kW. Am I missing something? Thanks.

So I'm in a similar boat as many others here. Just got a free Wallbox with my EQS. Currently have a NEMA 14-50 outlet setup a couple of years ago, as I was using it for charging my previous EV (which came with a plug in charger that I need to return when my lease is up). Reached out to Qmerit around installing the Wallbox and they want $800 to install it (which I think is high).
If I were to order this 4-prong cable, I assume green is ground and white isn't used. Does it matter if red connects to L1 and black to L2 (or vice-versa)?

No Confirmation Email for Free Wallbox
I submitted my request for the free wall box 3 days ago and received the auto response saying I’d receive an order confirmation and shipping details within 48hrs. I haven’t received anything so I thought maybe I was being scammed until I found this thread. 😂 My dealer didn’t tell me about it. That kept pushing me to Lowes to buy a Chargepoint. Anyway, did you all receive confirmation and tracking details or did the box just show up?

I also did not get an update within 48 hours. I emailed the address in the auto notification about it and had the wallbox at my door within 3 days.

After reconnecting the wallbox to the app it still giving me the same error message. It must be a network issue on the MB side. We both can't be having the same issue. Anyone else with MB wallbox is having the same problem?

You have to have a 50A circuit in order for the wallbox to provide 9.6kW at 40A. You cannot use all the amperage in the circuit safely, and we set my Chargepoint box at 40A. But, with the max output specs of your box, I believe you are correct. You will be charging at 7.7kW.
This is due to voltage difference. In the US residential we don’t get the full 240V we get 208V and ‘three phase industrial is needed’ not just commercial. If you are near a Porsche passport location (that isn’t Derated) EQE/S will accept 11kW only place I’ve seen this is at Ritz in SoCal.
weirdly Tesla universal is limited to 9.6kW.

2 questions:
-have MB Wallbox and app says update is needed via internet. I’ve connected the box to the web but won’t update. Ideas?
-for the scheduled charge times, do I enter the don’t charge/pause time or the actual charge time?

We leased an EQS SUV and received the free Wallbox charger. Before I plan the install I had some questions:
1. Can the charger be used to charge non-MB vehicles (we have a Model 3, and an X5e also) It seems to be closely integrated with the MB ecosystem, hence asking.
2. Does the Wallbox come with an NEMA 15-50 plug or do we have to buy a cord.
3. I plan to share.a single circuit with the two chargers; any suggestions for a good splitter?

2. No, buy a dryer cord if you want to plug in.
3. NO, if you happen to use both charger at the same time the wires will catch on fire. Don’t recommend splitting.

By the splitter I mean those which share the current capacity based on a priority based citeria.
some example are:

My Splitvolt 24 AMP NEMA 14-30 EVSE with 26 foot cable would trip the circuit breaker if used at same time as dryer so I'm not worried. A $60 Parkworld splitter works fine for me. Total cost, installed, is less than $400.
