Mercedes EQS 450+ 2023
Hello From a Former Tesla New EQS Owner

Hello-
very excited about our new Eqs. However, our dealer said we could purchase an adapter to charge at Tesla SuperChargers and told me to order Lectron Tesla Supercharger (NACS) to CCS Adapter | Vortex Plug | 500A | 1000V.
1)Has anyone used this to charge at a Tesla supercharger yet? I cannot find someone who has yet from my research. I ask because we plan to take a cross country road trip and I was just going to rent a Tesla until I heard I could use Tesla Superchargers with this adapter.

2) it sounds like some have charged at Tesla hotel charging stations? Do you need an adapter to use hotel Tesla chargers for an EQS?
3) having a difficult time identifying Tesla Starions w MAGIC DOck. Has anyone charged their Mercedes at Tesla using Magic Dock and do you need an adapter for that and could you direct me to where I can do more research on how to learn how to do this and locate the Magic dock Tesla stations
any and all guidance is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

EQS 450+
Welcome, Others will probably join in but I think I got this right
1. The adaptor will do you no good until Tesla and MB announce an agreement and probably a software change.
2. Don't know about the Tesla Hotel chargers
3. Others have had success charging with the Majic Dock. If you look on the Tesla charger map you can filter down to superchargers available to non-Teslas.
Hope this helped

Yes you can use Tesla destination Chargers. You will need one of these

By far the best available. However, once MB gets its Tesla "credentials" later on this year I think that adaper will work for both DC and AC charging making this one unnecessary.
The magic dock Tesla chargers work perfectly, top charging speed around 150kw. Note there are not many and you will need the Tesla app to use them. The much maligned (and rightfully so) EA has improved and they are almost as ubiquitous as Tesla superchargers. The nice thing with EA is the majority of stations are plug and go. Don't forget to download plugshare, the only comprehensive charging app. suaperbly helpful for planning road trips in areas with sparse charging infrastructure.
You will love the car. There are many layers to the system, so dint get exasperated. Take a few days to simply sit and push every button, and you will be amazed with the system even if 95% of the time you will need to adress a setting once and never have to use it again! Hey Mercedes can operate almost everything and its cool that its also a very smart search engine.

Unfortunately, the newer NACS-to-CCS1 adapters will only work with Tesla Superchargers. A separate Tesla-to-J1772 adapter will still be required for Tesla destination chargers.

The easiest way is to download the Tesla app and register. It will help you avoid the rigamrole when you are going to use one. After that, its plug and a simple swipe on the app. Very simple indeed.

EQS 450+ sedan
I have the Tesla app and I looked around my area. I know of a few supercharger locations and the app doesn't select those locations at all. From what I heard, tesla is still migrating all the superchargers to allow non-tesla vehicles to charge and that will take some time to complete. There are only 2 in California that I can see, Placerville and Scotts Valley.

Mercedes cannot charge on Tesla yet, except for the few with the magic dock. It’s not about migrating chargers. It’s about Mercedes and Tesla releasing the software that will allow it.

Correct. Tesla which has been bleeding cash of late seems to be slow walking it. Add to that the fact that its laying off over 10k employees abd the owner is trying to rob the company of billions to cover his debts and the whole magic dock thing may never come to fruition. Not to long ago Tesla was looking tosell the network but no one showed interest in it at the offering price. Musks BS and and his known mental illness is increasingly threatening the survival of the companies he started. When your CEO announces that he's taking Ketamine off label to manage his depression (despite being obviously bipolar), it doesn't reassure anyone, particularly, investors that are more than just fanboys.

Hi! I made the jump too.
I use an adapter at home and it works fine with the Tesla Wall charger (Lectron) Many hotel are simply a Tesla wall charger and should work just fine.
I am waiting for an adapter (ordered, not shipped (also lectron)) for Superchargers and will try it out to see.
