thank god we are changing parking lots to the south one. there should be plenty of room and you shouldnt have to drive all over that place to find everyone.

so dont forget everyone do not go to where i placed the red x on a map. use the map 2 post above.

Hey Carlos, I think on friday sometime, you should have one last post, with all the info up to date with the carvan info and the parking instructions. That way, everyone can go to the last page and know what is final and what isn't. I myself as a first timer, on this thread wouldn't want to read 10 pages of information regarding this meet. I think one up to date post at the end would be very effective.

Just my 2 cents...

yes, yours will say: "HELLO, My name is.... Chris (and I'm an alcoholic)"

I don't know, someone had that idea a long time ago at one of the Rose Bowl meets I think, and it got shot down as lame by a bunch of tough guys.

I think what might work is for everyone to print out on a sheet of paper
their forum screen-name and either avatar or signature pic, and place it on the dash of your car or on the windshield wiper. That way everyone knows at least who's car is who's. ???

hello, is it open to just Mercedes? and if so all mercedes? I have several friends that might be interested in this....SL450, S500, CLK500, and an 03 CLK-430 with a custom paint and interior...the SLR is in Bev Hills and doesnt get much road time. But I am an American Muscle Car kind of guy and would be coming in my 05 Mustang GT (modded) but if thats not cool I can see if I could talk one of my friends into driving one of the extras, since those all belong to only 3 people.

I am going to go back and read through this thread since I havent read it all but is there a reason for not doing this at Moonlight beach its only a block away and is a much larger parking lot and best view overlooking the beach (its raised up above the beach). The parking lot at City Hall is also large and has an unobstructed view but as far as pics go Moonlight would be better. And the pics on the first page of this thread are at Moonlight by the way I noticed the person posting it couldnt remember the name of the beach.

Is this a meet and cruise somewhere or a just a meet and then breakfast. Oggis I do not believe is open that early, if you are looking for a large resturant then the only thing that I can think of would be Denny's just off the freeway, but if parking was the concern then go down onto 101 at that time in the morning the street parking will be empty and you can all park in front of the resturant on 101, Encinitas hosts a Rods and Woodies event every month and this is what they do. The food on 101 is way better and you have a lot to chose from. I can compile a list if you would like. Also the lumber yard on 101 has a large parking lot and some resturants.

What time does this start and end?

Thanks.

It's cool if you come with your moded 05 Mustang GT AS long as you bring the SLR!

Hi,
I don't mean to sound rude at all, but you REALLY need to go back and read the entire thread.

Yes, just Mercedes-Benz, and MB/AMG vehicles.

Yes, all Mercedes. So your friend's SL450, S500, CLK500, CLK430, and SLR are all welcome ! There will be nothing but Mercedes at this meet.

Moonlight Beach is EXTREMELY crowded on a hot summer Saturday. Unless someone wanted to reserve the entire parking lot from 4 in the morning, Moonlight Beach was thrown out as an option, back in the early planning stages for this meet. Encinitas City Hall was another option, but not thrown in until much later after everything was planned. Perhaps, next year. For now, we might use it as an overflow, if the Coaster Station is not big enough for everyone that shows up. We'll see.

The 1st Annual MB/AMG San Diego meet was held at Moonlight Beach, but it was late in the afternoon, on a non-sunny day. We still had to share the parking lot with a bunch of beach-goers.

The ENCINITAS portion is solely a "MEET". There are Caravans coming down from GLENDALE, DIAMOND BAR, and IRVINE, that could be construed as "cruises" by some, but those are just caravans to get down to Encinitas in a group.

Breakfast ??? who said anything about breakfast ? early in the morning ??? What ?

Thanks.
This meet starts at 2pm and goes til 5pm. A few of us (but everyone is welcome) are thinking of going over to a local restaurant (perhaps Oggis Pizza) after the meet for dinner. We asked for input on restaurants about a month ago, and didn't get a single response.
So if you've got a list, awesome, please post so we can decide on options at the meet on Saturday.

again, sorry to come off so obnoxious, but this has been in the planning stages since February 2005, and we've been asking for suggestions / ideas etc.... ever since. We had to do with what we got, and this is what we got for now. I would love to have you on our Planning Committee for next year !!

Carlos

not a problem sorry I was sent a link to this thread and it was in the middle of the planning, thats why I stated I still had to go back and read the whole thing, thanks for answering the questions though, the SLR, I am not sure if I can twist his arm hard enough to bring it all the way down here, heck he hardly drives any of the cedes, he mostly drives his cherokee to put the mileage on that, besides I am not even sure if he could even make it down for this, but I will suggest it. How far do you guys want to go to eat???I can make some suggestions oggis is ok and they shouldnt be too busy at that time. If you guys want a place that will have a large empty parking lot at that time and large tables for most of you to sit together at try Miyabis Japanese Steak and Sushi in Encinitas (like benihana but better) just straight down Encinitas Blvd to El Camino and then a quick right and left into shopping center on the corner (I will elaborate if this is the choice.) They open at 4 on Saturday and arent too busy yet at 5 and you would be able to line up your cars in the parking lot, and you can fit roughly 20 people around one sitting area so if you had 60 people then you can do 3 sections all next to each other, they do lots of parties there (I am the bartender by the way and only suggest this to help out, not to promote the resturant its not mine and it does fine on its own). I would call to make reservations at least a day ahead of time to lock it in and make it real easy. But I can also make other suggestions if you would like seeing as though I live in the area, what are you guys shooting for?

no worries ! I really do hope you guys can make it down in some of those sweet Mercs you mentioned.

as for restaurants, Oggis is cool, but the Japanese place sounds great too !

let's see what people think....
Those of you thinking about sticking around for dinner after the meet, let your voices be heard.
