how about a San Antonio Austin are GTG ... any interest in that .. that would be sweet and closer to me.....

how about some recommendations on where to stay in Houston that would not put me too far out of the way .... I have never been to CenterVille

Well, you could come to Houston and caravan with us up to Centerville. There are also some people coming to the meet from Austin that you could caravan with. I don't know which is closer to McAllen, but if you decide to come through Houston, I'd recommend you find a hotel near George Bush Intercontinental Airport, or in The Woodlands/Spring area, since they're on the north side, and close to I-45, because Centerville is about 115 miles north of Houston on I-45.

Keep your eyes peeled here. The plans, as they stand now, are for us to assemble a little convoy in Houston and drive up to Centerville. There, we will meet up with some owners from the Dallas area, with some from other cities around the state coming as well. We're going to have BBQ lunch at a restaurant, and then go to a nearby state park for pics and sightseeing.

Ok, I heard from some people in the DFW area, and the caravan will be leaving from Carl's Jr on I-45 South. The address is 2500 S. I-45 Service Rd. Hutchins, TX 75141. It's exit 272 on the southbound side, they say you can't miss it. They don't have a time yet though, and we in Houston are still trying to decide on a place to meet up. I haven't heard anything from Austin yet either.

Update on DFW: They're leaving from the Carl's Jr at 12:30PM, and are going to meet up there about 15-20 mins prior to departure.

I finally heard from Austin. They're meeting up at Dell Diamond at 10:30AM, and departing at 11:00AM. We still are making up our minds in Houston.

I don't know where the Dell Diamond is. All I know is that it's a ballpark in Round Rock.

Updating the update.
Instead of meeting up at Carl's Jr 15-20 mins prior to departure, it's been stretched to 30 mins.
So, plans are, meet up at the Carl's Jr at 12:00PM, leave out at 12:30PM, arrive in Centerville at 2PM, give or take.

Ok Houston, we have a meeting place.

We'll be meeting at the Cracker Barrel at 14765 North Freeway. Houston, TX 77090. Take the Airtex exit (exit 63) from either direction to get there. We plan to meet up at 12:00PM, and depart for Centerville at 12:30PM. If you would like to have a late breakfast or early lunch while you're there, you're welcome to arrive earlier than 12:00PM, but just be ready to leave at 12:30PM.

I'm talking about BenzWorld, MBCA and MercedesShop, same guys who came to the big one at Prince's that time. MercedesShop has the most so far with 20, BenzWorld only has 1, and MBCA has 4.

I have something to add from DJ deJesus from the Ft. Worth chapter of MBCA.
It will be easier for some Fort Worth folks to head down 287 and then I-45 to Centerville rather than than to go east to Dallas and then South on I-45. So we set up another meeting place.
At 12 noon, we will meet at the Starbucks inside the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at 1612 South University Drive, Fort Worth, 76107. From I-30, exit University Drive and head south. Enter the University Village shopping center on the right side of University Drive after the Conoco gas station. The caravan will leave for Centerville at 12:30pm. Arrive earlier if you wish to have a late breakfast or early lunch. There are many restaurants in the University Village shopping center.
So there are now two choices for the caravans in the DFW area to leave from, the Carl's Jr. in Hutchins, and University Village shopping center in Ft. Worth. So, now you can leave from whichever one you feel is easier to get to, or what other reason(s) you may have.

At a later date, I will post all the caravan departure locations for each city.

Alright, about a month to go. I know we have a sizable DFW population on this board, and I haven't heard a peep from them. Odd.
