Our last "big" AMG meet in Atlanta was in April 2005. Despite the weather, we had a very nice turnout of AMG cars including the latest AMG "65" offerings that were just hitting the streets at that time.

The stars will be in alignment again this fall for what promises to be a very special and unique opportunity to participate with your AMG friends in a weekend full of activities! At this point, we are planning a photo shoot, tech session, dyno runs and a day at the drags. Other things are "in the works" as well....stay tuned for more details on those. We have secured the dates of November 4th/5th 2006 for this exclusive event.

This event is being organized by AMG Enthusiasts and is not an "official" event by MBUSA or Mercedes-AMG. However, they have been invited and we anticipate participation at various levels throughout the weekend.

Make your plans now to attend. We will be posting details soon about preferred hotel information, how to register and other specifics of this very special weekend.

Here's a link to the last AMG Weekend we had:

Wow, I cant believe I missed the last one. AMAZING cars! I will do my best to come down there for this (maybe in a new car ). Do you have any idea how long of a drive it is from Maryland? Thanks for setting this up!

We had people from all over at the last one. IIRC, a nice young lady drove her SL65 up from the Orlando area (8 hours).

According to Yahoo Maps, you're looking at about 10.5 hours. You'll need to drive down Friday and home on Monday....but it's Interstate driving the whole way.

Think about it....hope you can make it down!

Yea, I'll probably fly down. I would've done 6 hours of drivin but 10! Thats a whole day of drivin! Arrange for the SL65 to be at the airport so I can drive it to the meet!

If you're flying to Atlanta try to get an Air Tran flight. Yes we're a hub for Delta but that just means Delta charges outrageous prices to fly to or from ATL half the time. Occassionally you can get a good deal though. I'm putting these dates in my calendar right now so I don't forget.

Hmm, I need to see how to work out the logistics going from Boston, MA. That is a bit of a hike. Let me see what I can do. It would be great to meet everyone and hang out and talk cars to the point of saturation!

If you guys from Boston decide to drive down we can meet up and drive down in a caravan. Otherwise, I'm flyin! Only problem will be transportation once we get down there. If theres anything I can do to help with planning or organization of the event, let me know Steve.

Yup. Remember I was havin lighting ssues at AMGfest? Well I got 2 new 8000k HID bulbs but couldnt figure out why the taillight wasnt workin. Checked fuses, changed bulbs, even changed the whole assembly. I'll leave it to the dealer to figure it out. I dropped it off about an hour and a half ago. $115/hr labor rate! I asked for an SL65 loaner at that rate, the response was, sorry sir we only have c classes available! I will definitely be going to this event, I will keep you updated on how many roll with me.

We are still sorting the details. Last year, many of the events took place around the Peachtree City area. Since this is an all-volunteer organization effort, each person in attendance paid for their own meals last year. I anticipate a similar scenario again this time.

Depending on what facilities (dyno, hotel, etc.) are available, we may focus our efforts at selecting sites on the Northside. We are anticipating having these details nailed down in the next week or so.

Please keep November 4th and 5th free on your calendar.
